Bulduga

Bulduga, an Ithorian of the male persuasion, formed one half of a bounty hunter team, working alongside his sibling, Onca. In contrast to Onca's fondness for long-distance weaponry like rifles, Bulduga gravitated towards the readily available and rapid-firing blaster pistols. Their reputation preceded them throughout the galaxy, eventually catching the attention of Count Dooku, the leading figure of the Separatists. Dooku presented them with a challenge: to win the Box, a perilous competition for bounty hunters. Following a gathering with Dooku's assembled hunters, Cad Bane killed Bulduga over a disagreement regarding the Ithorian's broad-brimmed fedora. Consequently, Onca was left to compete alone, but met his end during the second trial.

Biography

Brothers in arms

Bulduga and Onca, a legendary bounty hunting pair

During the Clone Wars, Bulduga, an Ithorian of the male variety, collaborated with his brother Onca as a bounty hunter. The pair established themselves as a renowned team. Bulduga, favoring quick-draw blaster pistols over Onca's preference for rifles designed for longer ranges, managed to dispel the notion that all Ithorians were peaceful agriculturalists for many of his targets.

The combination of Bulduga's weapon selection, his low-slung holster, red-hued goggles, and broad-brimmed hat led onlookers to speculate that he was merely imitating the famous bounty hunter Cad Bane, although few dared to voice such opinions within the Ithorian's hearing range. Ultimately, Bulduga and Onca piqued the interest of Count Dooku, a Sith Lord aligned with the Confederacy of Independent Systems. The Count extended an invitation to the hunters, beckoning them to the planet Serenno to participate in a deadly tournament known as the Box.

Dooku's challenge

Bulduga was gunned down by Cad Bane over the matter of a hat.

In preparation for a high-stakes mission to abduct the Supreme Chancellor of the Galactic Republic, Dooku summoned a group of bounty hunters to his homeworld to assess their capabilities through a series of trials devised by the criminal mastermind Moralo Eval. Those who survived these trials would join Dooku's operation and receive a substantial reward upon its successful completion.

Bulduga and Onca gathered outside the Box just before the tournament commenced, encountering their competition, including bounty hunters such as Sixtat, Sinrich, Jakoli, Twazzi, Kiera Swan, Derrown, Mantu, Rako Hardeen, and Cad Bane. Before entering the Box, Bane approached Bulduga, expressing his admiration for his hat. Feeling threatened, Bulduga drew his blaster pistol, but the swifter Duros bounty hunter outdrew him and killed him. Bane then claimed Bulduga's fedora.

Onca, receiving minimal sympathy, was compelled to compete in the Box alone and perished during the second challenge.

Personality and traits

Bulduga preferred quick draw blasters and a wide-brimmed hat.

Bulduga was a towering and slender Ithorian, standing at 2.27 meters, or 7 feet, 5 inches in height. His skin was of a brown-colored hue.

Contrary to the common perception of Ithorians as peaceful beings, Bulduga was a dangerous bounty hunter. In contrast to his brother, Bulduga overcame his species' inherent bulkiness, becoming a rapid-draw gunslinger. However, his fashion and weapon choices led some to believe that Bulduga was attempting to emulate Cad Bane. Upon being confronted by Bane, Bulduga became defensive and instinctively reached for his weapons. Despite his reputation for a quick draw, Bane proved faster, subsequently taking Bulduga's fedora.

Skills and abilities

Bulduga was renowned for his proficiency in armed combat and tracking.

Equipment

Bulduga carried a blaster pistol in a low-slung, quick-draw holster, complemented by a black vest and a broad-brimmed hat. He also wore red-tinted goggles over his eyes that emitted a glow in darkness.

Behind the scenes

Bulduga made his debut in the Star Wars: The Clone Wars television series episode "The Box," which aired as part of the show's fourth season.
