Concord

The Concord, a Mark I variant of the Starhawk-class Battleship, fought for the New Republic Defense Fleet during the Galactic Civil War era, specifically in 5 ABY. Commodore Kyrsta Agate was in command of this vessel. This ship participated in a skirmish located in Wild Space, the Defense of Kuat, and played a vital role in the New Republic's victory during the Battle of Jakku.

Overview

The Concord holds the distinction of being the initial Starhawk-class Battleship Mark I constructed at the Nadiri Dockyards after the pivotal Battle of Endor. Its design featured a distinctive hatchet-shaped bow, utilizing repurposed components from captured Imperial warships. Classified as a battleship, the Concord was outfitted with a potent tractor beam powered by magnite crystals. These crystals amplified the beam's strength, enabling the ship to grapple and maneuver vessels significantly larger than itself, up to ten times its own size.

History

Concord was the first Starhawk constructed at the hidden Nadiri Dockyards following the Battle of Endor.

Following the events of the Endor conflict, the Alliance to Restore the Republic evolved into the New Republic. The Galactic Senate of the Republic sanctioned a program to construct new warships, utilizing salvaged materials from dismantled Imperial vessels as the Galactic Civil War neared its end. The Concord, the first Starhawk-class ship completed by Nadiri Dockyards, was placed under the command of Commodore Kyrsta Agate, who received a promotion in recognition of her actions during the rebellion on Akiva. The Concord was noted for its spacious, white interiors and well-lit docking bays.

During a skirmish close to Wild Space in 5 ABY, the Concord, along with the Alderaanian escort frigate named Sunspire, successfully destroyed Commander Valent's Star Destroyer, the Scythe. Subsequently, Commodore Agate brought Norra Wexley, a New Republic pilot, and Captain Wedge Antilles aboard the Concord to address their unauthorized mission to locate Han Solo. Later, the Concord participated in the New Republic's capture of Kuat and the Kuat Drive Yards.

Concord charges against the Ravager above Jakku.

In the decisive Battle of Jakku, the Concord fought alongside its sister ships, the Amity and Unity, against Imperial forces above Jakku. During the engagement, after a sustained effort by the New Republic, the defensive perimeter of Imperial ships surrounding the Ravager was breached, creating an opportunity for Commodore Agate. In a critical decision, and after consulting with Admiral Ackbar, Agate ordered the evacuation of the majority of the Concord's crew. She then used the battleship as a weapon against the flagship of Counselor Gallius Rax, the Ravager. Although the Concord sustained heavy damage during its assault on the Super Star Destroyer, Captain Agate successfully utilized the ship's powerful tractor beam projectors to pull the Ravager down to the surface of Jakku, which shifted the battle's outcome in favor of the New Republic.
