Grogu's chainmail shirt

Din Grogu's beskar chainmail shirt was made for the Mandalorian foundling Din Grogu by the Armorer, after being requested by the Mandalorian bounty hunter Din Djarin in the years succeeding the Galactic Civil War. Jedi Master Luke Skywalker eventually gave Grogu the armor, presenting him with a choice between the armor itself and Yoda's second lightsaber. This choice represented either embracing the path of a Jedi or succumbing to his attachment and reuniting with Djarin. In the end, Grogu selected the chainmail, choosing to go back to Din Djarin.

History

A rondel was placed on Grogu's armor.

At the request of the Mandalorian bounty hunter Din Djarin, the Armorer created Grogu's chainmail shirt in 9 ABY, using Djarin's beskar spear as the source material. It was carefully packaged to be given as a present to the Mandalorian foundling Grogu. When Djarin arrived to see Grogu, former Jedi Ahsoka Tano prevented him from immediately doing so. Tano took the gift and subsequently handed it over to Jedi Master Luke Skywalker, who used the armor to present Grogu with a defining choice. Grogu had to decide whether to accept the armor and give into his attachment, or choose Yoda's lightsaber and the path of the Jedi. Luke also cautioned that extensive training in the Force would require many years, and that the difference in lifespan between his species and humans might mean he would never see Djarin again. Ultimately, Grogu chose the chainmail, opting to return to Din Djarin.

Later, after a training session, the Armorer crafted a rondel featuring a mudhorn signet for Grogu, utilizing spare beskar left by other Mandalorians for foundlings. While sitting by the Forge, Grogu recalled his experiences surviving Order 66 with the assistance of Kelleran Beq.
