Imperial labor camp

The Imperial labor camp, situated on the planet of Erebus, functioned as a labor camp under the control of the Galactic Empire. This site was composed of a substantial, walled-off prison complex in conjunction with a mining facility. Prisoners were compelled to perform labor at the mining facility. Notably, in 18 BBY, the camp held individuals such as the disgraced former Vice Admiral Edmon Rampart, who was imprisoned due to his involvement in the attack on Kamino. The facility's commander was a warden. During this period, Clone Force 99 executed an infiltration of the camp. They hijacked one of the HCVw A9 turbo tanks, which were used for prisoner transport, to extract Rampart and obtain the location of Tantiss Base from him.

Description

The fortified gate of the labor camp perimeter

Overseen by the Galactic Empire, the Imperial labor camp served as a prison located on the planet Erebus. The primary structure was a formidable walled fortress, distinguished by a prominent tower and a single gate used by HCVw A9 turbo tanks that transported prisoners. A heavily guarded road connected the prison to a mining operation situated on the banks of a lake. Prisoners endured harsh working conditions in rotating shifts at this mining site. Retractable roadblocks and observation towers were in place to ensure the prison's security. In case of disturbances, several Low Altitude Assault Transports manned by TK stormtroopers stood ready to respond. Scouts conducted constant patrols of the grounds to deter potential attackers. Mined resources were transported off-world using class four container transports that were escorted by Rho-class transport shuttles.

History

In the year 18 BBY, Imperial Navy Vice Admiral Edmon Rampart faced arrest after Senator Riyo Chuchi exposed his connection to the attack on Kamino. This revelation led to Rampart's disgrace and subsequent sentencing by the Galactic Emperor himself, Sheev Palpatine. Following his arrest, Rampart was sent to the Erebus prison, where he was assigned to serve his sentence as a forced laborer.

Later that same year, the Advanced Science Division located Clone Force 99 on the island sanctuary of Pabu and launched an invasion of the city, compelling Omega to surrender. With the location of [Tantiss Base](/article/tantiss_base], where she was taken, unknown, Force 99 resolved to extract Rampart for interrogation to obtain the coordinates. They devised a plan to infiltrate Erebus, enlisting the aid of pirate Phee Genoa. After successfully navigating the site's perimeter, Hunter, Wrecker, and Crosshair boarded the transport carrying Rampart at the end of his shift. They subdued the TK stormtroopers operating the vehicle and seized control. However, the warden discovered the deception and dispatched another Juggernaut, Transport Two, to destroy their transport before it crossed the bridge leading to the prison grounds. The Bad Batch managed to disable the Imperial transport and breach the bridge fortifications, escaping the perimeter and entering a canyon. There, they faced an attack by LAATs, which deployed TK troopers onto the transport's roof. Nevertheless, with assistance from Genoa and her ship, the Providence, the Bad Batch managed to shake off the troopers and escape Erebus with Rampart.
