Escape from the Invincible Faith

During the time of the Galactic Civil War, Inferno Squad's Commander Iden Versio managed to break free from the clutches of the Rebel MC80 Star Cruiser known as the Invincible Faith. This escape was facilitated by an ID10 seeker droid, and it happened after she intentionally allowed herself to be taken prisoner.

Prelude

A U-wing, carrying Iden Versio, approaches the Invincible Faith.

In events preceding this, the Rebel Alliance successfully intercepted a transmission from Moff Derrek Raythe. This message contained instructions for Death Squadron to relocate to the opposite side of Endor in preparation for the Galactic Empire's planned ambush during the impending Battle of Endor. To maintain secrecy, Inferno Squad Commander Iden Versio received orders to secure the message before the Rebel Alliance could fully decipher it. Versio orchestrated her own capture as a means of infiltrating the MC80 Star Cruiser Invincible Faith, the location where the message decryption was underway.

While aboard the Invincible Faith, the ship's captain made an attempt to extract the activation code for Versio's droid through interrogation. He tried to persuade her by offering her a position within the Rebel Alliance, expressing his belief that the Galactic Empire was on the verge of collapse during the Battle of Endor. However, she declined his proposition. After he departed, Versio spoke the activation code into her helmet, which was connected to her droid, thereby activating it.

The escape

Upon activation via the spoken code, the ID10 initiated a scan of the surrounding area, while a Sullustan technician attempted to compromise its memory core. During this process, the Sullustan received an electrical shock from the ID10's electro-shock prod. Having pinpointed Versio's location by accessing the ship's computers, the ID10 proceeded towards the ventilation system. Upon exiting the ventilation system, the ID10 encountered several rebel troopers stationed just outside Versio's holding cell. It was then instructed to re-enter the ventilation system and seek an alternate route. Once again emerging from the ventilation system, the ID10 discovered a sizable staging area. Navigating around multiple rebels, the ID10 successfully reached a console, granting it access to another ventilation system that led directly to Versio's cell. Finally arriving at her cell, the ID10 released Versio from her restraints.

The ID10 frees Versio of her shackles.

Now free, Versio put her helmet back on, re-establishing communication with the Corvus and Agent Gideon Hask. She updated Agent Hask on the progress of her mission, while her ID10 unlocked her cell door. She began to traverse the ship, incapacitating several rebels along the way using a baton, before locating a weapons cache and acquiring a DH-17 blaster pistol. Armed, she continued her journey through the ship, eventually reaching the communications center, where she shot and killed the officer who was in the process of decrypting the message. She swiftly played the message before erasing it. However, the deletion of the message triggered the ship's alarm system, placing the rebels on high alert. Proceeding to retrieve an A280C blaster rifle, she instructed Hask to initiate the extraction process.

The Corvus comes out of hyperspace to extract Iden Versio.

Making her way toward an airlock, Versio eliminated numerous rebel soldiers during her escape. Ultimately, Versio arrived at a heavily fortified door, which would require more time to slice than the previous ones. Under heavy fire, Versio defended against the approaching waves of rebel soldiers until the droid successfully completed slicing the door. Upon reaching the airlock, Versio sealed herself inside and informed Hask that she was ready for extraction. As Hask initiated the countdown, the airlock opened, and Versio was ejected into the vacuum of space just before the arrival of the Corvus, allowing her to be recovered in its hangar bay. While the Invincible Faith launched concussion missiles, the Corvus made its escape into hyperspace.

Aftermath

On the Corvus's command deck, Versio commended her crew for the successful rescue operation. Hask inquired about the successful deletion of the message, which was confirmed. Subsequently, the crew contacted Admiral Garrick Versio to inform him of the mission's success.

Inferno Squad witnesses the destruction of the second Death Star.

As a result of the retrieval of Raythe's message, the Rebel Alliance was caught unprepared at the Battle of Endor, unknowingly entering the trap set by the Empire. Despite this, the Rebel Alliance managed to disable the shield generator surrounding the Death Star II and destroy its reactor core from within, inflicting a significant blow to the Empire. Ultimately, the Empire was defeated during the Battle of Jakku. With Iden repeating the words given by the captain of the Invincible Faith to save her father. Which he declined and urged his daughter to live and survive in peace.
