A 45th Anniversary Celebration of A New Hope in LEGO Form is a non-canon animated short, rendered in LEGO style, that commemorates both 45 years since the release of Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope and the Celebration Anaheim event of 2022.
Luke Skywalker himself is the first to arrive at a special showing of Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope, driving his X-34 landspeeder amidst a throng of cheering admirers, only to have it promptly wrecked by a sneaky Jawa. Mace Windu and Ahsoka Tano then pull up in a TX-130 Saber-class fighter tank, escorted by two clone troopers belonging to the 187th Legion. A concealed B1-series battle droid emerges from the crowd, attempting to attack, but is swiftly neutralized by the combined efforts of the Force-sensitives and the clones. Next, Clone Force 99 makes their entrance in the Marauder; Omega, Echo, Hunter, Tech, and Wrecker are greeted with cheers, while CT-9904 "Crosshair" receives boos and a shower of popcorn from the audience.
The arrival of Grogu with his protector Din Djarin in the Razor Crest generates immense excitement among the crowd. However, Gideon's light cruiser promptly obliterates the Razor Crest, and Gideon, accompanied by three third-generation design Dark Trooper confront the Mandalorian and his foundling. As Djarin and Gideon engage in combat, Grogu employs the Force to push back the menacing Dark Troopers before helping himself to some popcorn. Meanwhile, the light cruiser makes its escape while Jawas pilfer its components, only for one of the scavengers to be startled by the former Sith Lord Maul, who demands that one of three onlookers give his acrobatic moves a perfect score.
General Maximilian Veers, enjoying a snow cone, arrives with several cold weather assault stormtrooper aboard an All Terrain Armored Transport, which the Jawas attempt to climb before Boba Fett and Fennec Shand appear in the Slave I. While Shand signs an autograph for a fan, Skywalker and Darth Vader briefly pause their lightsaber duel to ensure a spectator gets a good photo of them. The Millennium Falcon then lands, and Skywalker reunites with his companions, who all leave their handprints on the walk of fame—Han Solo comically crashes into a concrete slab, recreating his carbonite imprisonment—before they all head into the theater.
Despite Vader's frustration at not being allowed to bring a soda inside, the audience settles in to watch A New Hope, as Yoda observes from afar.
