Iana Percei

The Mon Calamari female known as Iana Percei held the position of marshal for the U'ronoh settlement on the planet of E'ronoh. In the year 382 BBY, the extremist group called the Children of E'ronoh nearly perpetrated a deadly assault on U'ronoh. However, due to the village's evacuation, the total loss of life was limited to two. Following this event, Percei engaged in conversation with Captain Xiri A'lbaran of E'ronoh, who played a role in the incident. Later, she was present at a Remembrance ceremony held at Siggi's tavern to honor the two who perished. After the ceremony, she had a discussion with Jedi Knight Gella Nattai, who accompanied A'lbaran, about her reasons for staying on E'ronoh and about the Force religion of the Path of the Open Hand.

Biography

Close Call and Memorial

Iana Percei lived on the planet E'ronoh.

Hailing from the planet [Mon Cala](/article/mon_cala], Iana Percei was a Mon Calamari female who departed her homeworld due to the civil war occurring there. During the High Republic Era, Percei took on the role of marshal for the village of U'ronoh on the planet E'ronoh, choosing to distance herself from her origins and establish herself on E'ronoh. She intentionally endured the war with Eiram, E'ronoh's neighboring planet, instead of fleeing as she had done on Mon Cala. In 382 BBY, U'ronoh underwent an evacuation as a result of a threatened deadly attack by the anti-Eirami extremist group known as the Children of E'ronoh, who had concealed their identities as soldiers from Eiram.

The village managed to avoid the worst of the assault, and in its wake, Percei addressed Captain Xiri A'lbaran, a member of the E'ronoh royal family who was involved in the incident but survived. Expressing her gratitude for her survival, she shook the captain's hand and sympathized with A'lbaran's misfortune. The Mon Calamari conveyed to A'lbaran, Jedi Knight Gella Nattai, and A'lbaran's betrothed, Phan-tu Zenn, all of whom were entangled in the situation, that the inhabitants of U'ronoh would provide assistance in tending to their wounds and repairing their damaged pleasure barge, the Amaryliss, while awaiting the return of those who had evacuated U'ronoh.

Zenn inquired about the presence of a nearby patrol ship, as he had been informed of one, but Percei clarified that it had been deployed to support the war effort against Eiram. She added that they conducted patrols of the village themselves but encountered minimal ambushes due to the poor yield of the mines. Subsequently, Percei informed the visitors about an upcoming Remembrance ceremony at Siggi's tavern to honor the lives that were lost, and that a medical droid was assessing the survivors for injuries. Intrigued by the Jedi's presence, Percei engaged in conversation with Nattai en route to the tavern. The ceremony that night featured stories about the two casualties: a Tintinna man and a tower guard.

Discourse with a Jedi

Percei spoke with Gella Nattai (pictured).

Following the ceremony, Percei shared a booth with Nattai, commenting on the potent beverage the Jedi had chosen, a stinger. After a cough from the Mon Calamari, Nattai proposed that Eiram might be a more suitable environment for her than the desert climate she currently inhabited. Percei confirmed that she had attempted to go to Eiram but was unable to bypass the blockade due to the ongoing war. As she continued, mentioning a subsequent drought, Nattai expressed curiosity as to why Percei remained—the Mon Cala explained that it was not an easy decision to leave a place.

Nattai responded, noting that Jedi served as guardians of others' lives, but the human Kala joined them and dismissed the notion of fighting for peace. Percei apologized for Kala's pessimism—Kala glared at Nattai and proceeded to criticize the Jedi, prompting Percei to scold her. The marshal, sighing and requesting a drink, explained that Kala was echoing the sentiments expressed by members of the Force religion known as the Path of the Open Hand during their visits to E'ronoh. Intrigued, Nattai inquired further. After finishing her amber-colored drink, Percei revealed that they asserted that the Force did not belong to the Jedi. This statement irritated the Jedi, but the marshal reassured her, mentioning that some young individuals in the town had aligned themselves with the Path but that it was not a cause for concern. She then rose to join the dancing.

Character and Attributes

Percei journeyed far from Mon Cala in an effort to escape the civil war that plagued it. However, on E'ronoh, she resolved to stay and endure the conflict. The Mon Calamari possessed dark-purple spots on her head, likely a result of the sunny environment in which she resided.

Gear

Iana Percei wore a climate regulator around her neck, which emitted small clouds of mist. This device occasionally made her voice sound phlegmy.
