Krion Grail was a Human admiral within the Navy serving the Galactic Empire of Darth Krayt. During the Second Imperial Civil War, Grail commanded the First Coruscant Task Force, with the Devaronian Captain Shantillen serving as his second in command. Later, Grail was reassigned to the Outer Rim Third Fleet.
Admiral Krion Grail, a Human, gave his service to Darth Krayt's Galactic Empire. In 137 ABY, after Grand Admiral Morlish Veed was made Regent of the Empire by Darth Wyyrlok, Grail spearheaded the First Coruscant Task Force in a pursuit targeting the Galactic Alliance fleet. They used comm frequencies, given by a traitor, as signals to pinpoint the fleet's location.
Grail also devised a scheme to assassinate Gar Stazi, the Head of State and leader of the Galactic Alliance Remnant. The assassin was Tealart, a Mon Calamari shipman from Stazi's own crew. Tealart's family was imprisoned by Imperial forces on Dac and faced execution if Tealart refused to cooperate. Tealart sabotaged the fleet's deep-space alarms, ensuring the Alliance received no warning when Grail's task force emerged from hyperspace and initiated an attack. The Mon Calamari then fired a blaster at Stazi, inflicting severe injuries.
After chasing the Alliance fleet to the Opoku system, Grail tracked the rebels to the Teraab sector and located the Remnant flagship, the Alliance. From the bridge of his flagship, the Ardent-class fast frigate named Marauder, Grail attempted to persuade Jhoram Bey, Stazi's second in command, to surrender. However, Stazi, despite his injuries, had discovered how the fleet was being tracked. Bey used this information to reverse the situation on the Imperial task force: the Galactic Alliance fleet jumped out of hyperspace behind Grail's fleet and began to destroy it. Outmaneuvered, Grail angrily ordered the battered Imperial forces to retreat.
Grail later joined Darth Stryfe and Moff Geist aboard the Pellaeon-class Star Destroyer named Relentless to command the Outer Rim Third Fleet. Their mission was to stop Admiral Stazi's plan to evacuate the planet Dac, which was infected by the Sith with a deadly pathogen.
As the battle between the Third Fleet and Stazi's forces commenced, several ships approached the Sith Imperials' position. Grail informed Moff Geist and Lord Stryfe that sensors showed no life signs aboard the approaching ships, leading him to believe that Stazi had launched droid bombs, which he considered a weak move. Geist ordered the Imperial ships to open fire, resulting in the explosion of multiple ion bombs that damaged the Third Fleet's sensors, rendering them blind. Grail immediately ordered all ships to divert power to their shields. Stryfe criticized the Admiral, stating that Stazi's "pitiful" maneuver had resulted in five of their ships being destroyed or disabled. Grail defended his orders, arguing that the shields had prevented their ship from suffering the same fate.
As the initial wave of the Alliance's evacuation fleet began their escape, Stryfe ordered an interception. One of the refugee ships was destroyed, prompting Stazi to position the Alliance between the escaping freighters and Imperial fire. As the Imperials focused their fire on the Alliance, a fleet under the command of General Oron Jaeger, who was Fel-loyalist, emerged from hyperspace to assist Stazi. Outnumbered and heavily damaged, the Outer Rim Third Fleet retreated from the battle.

Krion Grail possessed ambition and a calculating mind, aspiring to the rank of Grand Admiral within the Imperial Military. Unlike some of his fellow officers, the admiral held the members of the One Sith in high regard, admiring their penchant for plotting and planning. Grail favored weakening the Empire's adversaries from within, manipulating them into acting according to his plans, rather than simply overwhelming them with superior numbers and firepower, which carried the risk of defeat. However, the admiral's arrogance led him to underestimate his opponents, resulting in the loss of crucial Imperial objectives to the Galactic Alliance, such as the destruction of the Alliance and securing Dac.
