Lennox

A human male named Lennox held the rank of captain within the Imperial Navy of the Galactic Empire. During the Galactic Civil War, which pitted the Empire against the Alliance to Restore the Republic, Lennox commanded the Tyrant, an _Imperial II_-class Star Destroyer. This vessel was a component of Death Squadron, the personal fleet of the Sith Lord Darth Vader.

In the year 3 ABY, Death Squadron successfully located the hidden base of the Alliance situated on the planet Hoth. Subsequently, they initiated an assault targeting the rebels, with Star Destroyers such as the Tyrant establishing a blockade around the planet. Lennox made an attempt to intercept the first GR-75 medium transport utilized by the rebels to evacuate from Hoth. However, the rebels' v-150 ion cannon fired multiple shots, disabling the Star Destroyer, causing the ship to drift uncontrollably while the transport made its escape. Although Lennox avoided immediate execution following the Empire's victory in the battle, they ultimately perished during the Battle of Endor in 4 ABY.

Biography

Captain of the Tyrant

During the Galactic Civil War, Lennox, a human male, was a member of both the Galactic Empire's Imperial Navy and the [Imperial Officer Corps](/article/imperial_officer_corps], fighting against the Alliance to Restore the Republic. By 3 ABY, Lennox held the position of captain aboard the Tyrant, an Imperial II-class Star Destroyer. The Tyrant was a part of Death Squadron, which served as the personal fleet of the Sith Lord Darth Vader. As a part of the Imperial operation known as Project Swarm, the fleet's mission was to find the Alliance's new secret headquarters. A Viper probe droid, launched as part of the project, detected signs of life on the planet Hoth, leading Vader to order the fleet to the Hoth system.

Lennox served as captain of the Tyrant.

Admiral Kendal Ozzel, the commander of Death Squadron, opted to bring the fleet out of hyperspace in close proximity to the Hoth system with the intention of achieving surprise. This decision, however, alerted the rebels to the Empire's arrival, giving them sufficient time to erect a shield encompassing their secret headquarters, Echo Base. Because of the shield, Lennox and the other Death Squadron captains were unable to conduct an orbital bombardment, so the Imperial Blizzard Force was deployed to the planet to conduct a ground assault. In the meantime, the Tyrant and the rest of Death Squadron maintained a blockade around the planet.

Battle of Hoth

As the attack began, the rebels started their evacuation by launching the GR-75 medium transport called Quantum Storm, which was being protected by two T-65 X-wing starfighters. After the Tyrant moved to cut off the path of the transports, Lieutenant Cabbel, a controller stationed on the Tyrant's bridge, approached Lennox, who was observing Hoth through a viewport. Cabbel informed Lennox that the three rebel vessels were approaching their sector, a fact that pleased the captain.

Under Lennox's command, the Tyrant took part in the Battle of Hoth.

The Tyrant's shields were lowered to allow the three enemy ships to be drawn aboard using a tractor beam. However, just as the Star Destroyer's tractor beam locked onto the transport, the Alliance struck the Tyrant with two blasts from a v-150 Planet Defender ion cannon positioned at Echo Base. With its shields down, the shots crippled Lennox's ship, destroying its missile launchers and [conning tower](/article/conning_tower], causing it to veer off course and drift helplessly into deep space as the Quantum Storm and its escort slipped past and escaped the system. The Empire would ultimately claim victory in the Battle of Hoth, but many rebels managed to evade the blockade. Lennox avoided being executed after the battle and lived to take part in the Imperial forces during the Battle of Endor in 4 ABY, where the Alliance Fleet attacked the Death Star II within the Endor system above the moon Endor. Lennox died during the battle, and the Death Star was destroyed.
