A young female Lurmen named Maynar resided on the planet Qalydon during the Imperial Era. As the daughter of Elan and Biz, the chief of her village, she aided the Freemakers in safeguarding their home from the Galactic Empire. Initially, Maynar was skeptical about the Force and did not fully grasp the significance of her people's kyber crystals. However, after witnessing Rowan Freemaker utilize the Force against M-OC and retrieve her people's crystals from Imperial officers Durpin and Plumestriker, she developed a deeper understanding of it.
Maynar was the offspring of Biz, the Lurmen chieftain, and his spouse, Elan. She and her family inhabited a Lurman village situated on the world of Qalydon during the age of the Imperial Era. As the Freemakers embarked on their Mission to Qalydon, she noticed their vessel, the StarScavenger, nearing her village. Initially, the adult villagers displayed hostility towards the off-worlders upon discovering their quest for kyber crystals, suspecting them of being in the service of the Galactic Empire. Nevertheless, Kordi Freemaker successfully convinced them that they were not Imperials.
While the adults engaged in socializing with Kordi and Zander Freemaker, Maynar interacted with their younger sibling, Rowan Freemaker. Aware that Rowan was in search of a kyber crystal, Maynar attempted to offer him her family's crystal, but he declined and encouraged her to keep it. Maynar held the belief that the crystals were largely ineffective and merely a myth. When Rowan elucidated that the crystals amplified their connection to the Force, she dismissed it as another myth. Rowan disagreed, but Maynar voiced her discontent at being confined to Qalydon with her father and their kaadu.
Not long after, Imperial forces under the command of Imperial officers Durpin and Plumestriker launched a raid on her village, seeking kyber crystals for the Empire's second Death Star. The Imperials also apprehended Kordi, Zander, and Roger. However, Rowan and Maynar managed to stealthily re-enter the StarScavenger and employed its laser cannons to repel the Imperials. The Imperials retreated aboard a Gozanti-class cruiser, but Rowan managed to damage its rear stabilizer and hyperdrive, leading to its crash in a nearby mountain range.
Without informing her family or the Freemakers, Maynar secretly followed the Freemakers on their mission to retrieve the kyber crystal necklaces from the Imperials, stowing away aboard their tug. She trailed Rowan into the Gozanti-class cruiser and located him after he had encountered the crystals. Rowan was initially displeased that Maynar had endangered herself by following them. Despite her skepticism towards the Force, Maynar was captivated by his lightsaber.
Upon exiting the Gozanti-class cruiser, Rowan was ambushed by the Imperial hunter droid M-OC. As they engaged in a lightsaber duel, Rowan urged Maynar to flee. However, M-OC seized Maynar, exploiting Rowan's compassion for her. Zander succeeded in freeing Maynar from M-OC's grasp by ramming his tug into the hunter droid. Maynar managed to escape with the recovered kyber crystal necklaces but was spotted by Durpin and Plumestriker, who pursued her.
Maynar found her path obstructed by boulders and was cornered by the two Imperials. Durpin commanded her to surrender the crystals, but Kordi and Zander tackled the two Imperials to the ground. This afforded Maynar sufficient time to scale the boulders and evade capture. She soon encountered Rowan, who had temporarily defeated M-OC by employing the Force to entomb him with debris and machinery. However, they were ambushed by Durpin and Plumestriker, who absconded with the crystals and fled into hyperspace aboard their repaired Gozanti-class cruiser.
Harnessing the Force, Rowan successfully tracked the Imperial cruiser to the Marriten system. There, Rowan and his siblings recovered the crystals. Subsequently, they returned Maynar and the crystal necklaces to her people. Upon returning home, Maynar was embraced by her father, Biz. Maynar reassured her father not to worry because the crystals were back. Biz responded that she was more important than the crystals. Biz offered the Freemakers the villagers' crystals but Rowan declined since he did not want to deprive the villagers of their kyber crystals. Having witnessed the Force in action with Rowan, Maynar expressed her hope that the Force would be with Rowan before he departed with his siblings.
Exploiting Rowan's friendship with Maynar, the Imperial hunter droid M-OC impersonated her. He employed a hologram projection of her to entice Rowan into a trap on Qalydon. However, M-OC was ambushed by his rival Darth Vader, the Emperor's second-in-command, who disintegrated him and captured Rowan instead.
Maynar was a female Lurmen. She did not share her father Biz's reverence for kyber crystals and regarded the Force as a myth. Maynar also regarded life on Qalydon as boring and wanted to travel offworld with her friends. She was also adventurous and placed herself in danger when she accompanied the Freemakers on their quest to recover he people's kyber crystals.
Maynar's friendship with the Force Builder Rowan led her to reappraise her views of the Force. Having seen Rowan use the Force in combat against the hunter droid M-OC and to track down an Imperial ship that had escaped into space with her people's crystals, she came to appreciate the Force and the kyber crystals' importance to her people.
Maynar first appeared in the LEGO Star Wars: The Freemaker Adventures Season Two episode "The Lost Crystals of Qalydon," which first premiered on Disney XD on August 7, 2017. She is voiced by Coco Grayson.
