The Mythrol were a sentient race of humanoid beings, classified as a distinct species, characterized by their amphibious adaptations.
Amphibious characteristics, such as gills and cranial fins, defined the Mythrol. Their bodies featured thoraxes requiring periodic "evacuation," and they underwent molting. Juvenile Mythrol emitted a fragrant, sweet musk. Post-molting, their faces developed barbs. Younger Mythrol were known by the term "fledglings."
Their lifespans could reach several centuries.
Near the close of the High Republic Era, around 200 BBY, a Mythrol male served as a chef for President Jamie Brasen at his estate located on the planet Begamor.
Before 9 ABY, a fledgling Mythrol was employed by Magistrate Greef Karga on Nevarro, only to steal from him and subsequently escape. Later, this Mythrol took residence on the ice planet Pagodon inside a bar, where he faced harassment from a group of trawlers until the arrival of Mandalorian bounty hunter Din Djarin. Djarin intervened, apprehended the Mythrol, and handed him over to the Bounty Hunters' Guild. Subsequently, Karga permitted the Mythrol to work off his debt through a three hundred and fifty years term of indentured servitude. During this period, he assisted Karga, Din Djarin, and Marshal Carasynthia Dune in infiltrating and destroying a remnant Imperial base.
In 35 ABY, the Mythrol Junn Gobint, now past his fledgling stage, oversaw fuel provisions for the Resistance during their war against the First Order.
The Mythrol species made its debut in Chapter 1 of The Mandalorian, a Disney+ television series created by Jon Favreau in 2019, which premiered on November 12, 2019. While composing the visual dictionary for the 2019 film Star Wars: Episode IX The Rise of Skywalker, Lucasfilm Story Group member Pablo Hidalgo noticed a similarity between the Mythrol from The Mandalorian and the background alien Junn Gobint in Episode IX. Considering the television character's designation as a "fledgling," Hidalgo confirmed in the dictionary that these independently designed aliens were, in fact, members of the same species.
