Ferrix occupation
The Ferrix occupation refers to the Galactic Empire's seizure of power on the planet of Ferrix, an event that transpired in 5 BBY. The ambush on Ferrix led to the revocation of Preox-Morlana's authority over the Morlani system. Subsequently, the Empire established an Imperial garrison on Ferrix, setting up their central command within Hotel Rix.
Initially, the occupation was under the supervision of ISB Supervisor Blevin. He reassigned Chief Inspector Hyne, Deputy Inspector Syril Karn, and Sergeant Linus Mosk away from Ferrix. By order of Major Lio Partagaz, control over the Morlani system was then handed over to Supervisor Dedra Meero, Blevin's colleague within the Imperial Security Bureau.
Pre-occupation
In the year 5 BBY, [Cassian Jeron Andor](/article/cassian_jeron_andor] killed two Pre-Mor Security officers, namely Verlo Skiff and Kravas Drezzer, while searching for his sister, Kerri, on Morlana One. Despite orders from Chief Inspector Hyne to suppress the matter, Deputy Inspector Syril Karn launched an investigation into the deaths of Skiff and Drezzer. Karn tracked Andor to his homeworld of Ferrix, where he commanded a unit of the Pre-Mor Enforcement, supported by Sergeant Linus Mosk. Despite their efforts, Andor managed to escape with assistance from Luthen Rael. Ultimately, the mission resulted in the demise of several Pre-Mor officers.
The occupation
As a direct consequence of the Ferrix incident, the Galactic Empire took control of the Morlani system from Preox-Morlana. The Imperial Army established a garrison on Ferrix, seizing a hotel located on Rix Road to serve as their base of operations. ISB Supervisor Blevin, an operative of the Imperial Security Bureau, was deployed from Coruscant to oversee the Empire's governance of the Morlani system. Blevin accused Hyne, Karn, and Mosk of incompetence, ordering them to report to a transfer facility while he managed the establishment of permanent Imperial authority within the Free Trade sector. However, Major Partagaz subsequently reassigned jurisdiction of the system to ISB Supervisor Dedra Meero, who had convinced the major that the Ferrix incident was linked to a broader rebel network.
