Ranjiy's Krayt Hut

Ranjiy's Krayt Hut, a makeshift cantina, functioned on the New Republic flagship, the Lodestar.

Description

Aboard the New Republic flagship Lodestar, the crew established a makeshift cantina known as Ranjiy's Krayt Hut. After their shifts, the crew of the Lodestar would often gather there. A glowing sign reading "Ranjiy's Krayt Hut" marked the location, which also featured a couch with a metal frame due to significant wear. The Krayt Hut offered drinks, mainly inexpensive alcohol, and food, including imitation braised bantha of military quality. A restroom was located in the general vicinity. Nath Tensent, a New Republic pilot, told his new pilot companion Wyl Lark that the suite used to be the shipboard residence of a Senator from Malastare during the time of the Old Republic.

History

After Tensent became a member of the New Republic's Alphabet Squadron in 4 ABY, he frequented the Krayt Hut, spending many hours drinking, eating, and gambling. After a successful raid on an Imperial outpost that was transmitting messages to the Imperial-controlled planet Pandem Nai, Tensent joined the pilots of Hail Squadron at the Krayt Hut, staying up past midnight and into the early hours. As the newly formed Alphabet Squadron, comprised of Tensent, Lark, Yrica Quell, Kairos, and Chass na Chadic, started to form bonds, they also started to spend time together at the Krayt Hut. Following the Attack on Pandem Nai, a decisive victory for the New Republic, a celebration was held on the Lodestar, with Ranjiy's Krayt Hut hosting a group of over thirty pilots, mechanics, and specforce troops. Although some attendees anticipated General Hera Syndulla, one of the Lodestar's commanders, to put an end to the party, a captain arrived at the Krayt Hut and announced that she would be permitting it. Syndulla eventually joined the festivities, and Tensent bought her a beverage. As the party at the Krayt Hut continued, Chadic overheard her music while Kairos and Chadic were playing sabacc. She soon discovered that Lark and members of the ground crew had taken her datachips containing deva pop music to play.

Around 5 ABY, the 204th Imperial Fighter Wing, the same group that had failed to stop the New Republic at Pandem Nai, attacked New Republic forces, including the Lodestar. The Lodestar was stationed above the planet Troithe but was severely damaged by Imperial fighters from various squadrons, resulting in the ship's total destruction.
