Zygerrian Royal Guard
Royal Guards of Zygerria acted as sentinels, pledged to the protection of the Queen of Zygerria, enforcing Zygerrian authority over their slaves and safeguarding Zygerrian interests. These guards reported to the Prime Minister, who also held the rank of captain. Mounted on domesticated brezaks, these guards used the large flying creatures to patrol the land, searching for escaped slaves. They were armed with both Zygerrian blaster rifles and electrostaffs. They also piloted HH-87 Starhoppers to defend their slave processing centers. In the time soon after the formation of the Galactic Empire, a contingent of royal guards stationed on the planet of Ord Mantell utilized Zygerrian energy bows and rode Starhawk speeder bikes.
History
During the time of the Clone Wars, the Zygerrian royal guard was under the leadership of Prime Minister Atai Molec. In the wake of the abduction of Kiros' Togruta colonists, the royal guard escorted Lars Quell and his slave to appear before their queen, Miraj Scintel. At the slave pits, one of the guards noticed two individuals freeing Governor Gupat Roshti. The guards then tortured one of the liberators, until Molec identified him as Obi-Wan Kenobi. Subsequently, the royal guard intervened when Lars and his slave revealed themselves as Anakin Skywalker and Ahsoka Tano. They successfully captured Rex, Kenobi, and Tano. Skywalker proved more difficult to restrain, despite the use of their electro-whips.
Upon the arrival of Count Dooku, summoned by Molec, Scintel delegated several guards to watch over Skywalker. However, Skywalker incapacitated them. Following Dooku's murder of Scintel, the Royal guards accepted Dooku's claim that Skywalker had killed the queen. After Skywalker and Tano escaped, the Royal guards proceeded to herd Roshti and several of his people at Kadavo's slave processing facility into an electrified chamber to be dropped into lava. A number of the guards then piloted HH-87 Starhoppers against the fighters of Jedi General Plo Koon.
