Battle of Kadavo

The conflict known as the Battle of Kadavo unfolded on the planet Kadavo during the era of the Clone Wars. The goal of the forces of the Galactic Republic was to rescue Togruta colonists originating from Kiros. These colonists had been abducted and enslaved by the Zygerrian Slave Empire, an organization which had aligned itself with the Confederacy of Independent Systems. In an attempt to locate the captured Togruta, the Jedi initiated a mission; however, the operatives involved in this mission were captured during the Royal Slave Auction. After achieving escape, Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker and his Padawan Ahsoka Tano extracted information from the dying Zygerrian Queen, Miraj Scintel. This information revealed that the colonists, along with Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi and Clone Captain Rex, had been transported to Kadavo. Skywalker and Tano then requested reinforcements from Jedi General Plo Koon before journeying to the Kadavo slave processing facility, which was under the command of Keeper Agruss. The battle that followed resulted in the liberation of the surviving Togruta captives, and subsequently, the Republic forces destroyed the Kadavo facility.

The battle

Under the leadership of Jedi Generals Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker, accompanied by Skywalker's Padawan Ahsoka Tano, a Galactic Republic task force liberated Kiros and uncovered connections to Zygerria. The Jedi, along with Clone Captain Rex, soon infiltrated the auction, aiming to rescue the Togruta; however, they were captured by the Zygerrians and forced into slavery.

However, Skywalker and his Padawan managed to escape from the Zygerrians and set course for Kadavo to rescue Kenobi, Rex, and the Togruta, all of whom had been relocated to the Zygerrian slave processing facility on the planet. While traveling, the duo also requested reinforcements from the Republic. Tano and her Master were the first to arrive on the planet aboard the Aurore-class freighter Tecora and attempted to breach the slave processing facility. When Keeper Agruss, a Zygerrian, ordered them to stop, threatening to have the slaves killed, Skywalker refused to comply. At that moment, reinforcements arrived, led by Admiral Barton Coburn and Jedi Master Plo Koon. The Republic's Shadow Squadron also participated in the battle, along with clone pilots Boost and Warthog.

Koon's Wolfpack detachment launched an attack on the facility utilizing LAAT/i gunships and clone Z-95 starfighters, but their advance was impeded by the facility's ray shields. Nevertheless, Skywalker succeeded in destroying the defensive towers, while Kenobi and Rex initiated a rebellion and killed Agruss.

In his final act before dying, the Keeper attempted to cast the Togruta into the volcanic chasm beneath the facility. However, following a plan devised by Tano, the Republic forces evacuated them aboard Admiral Coburn's Arquitens-class light cruiser. After picking up Skywalker, Kenobi, Tano, and Rex, the Republic strike team proceeded to destroy the slave facility.

Aftermath

With the slaves having been rescued, Skywalker informed Governor Gupat Roshti of Tano's crucial role in the rescue operation, earning her his gratitude. Although he expressed concerns that the people of Kiros might not recover from their enslavement, Tano expressed confidence that their will would be strengthened by their victory, and she voiced her support for his idea of joining the Republic. The battle on Kadavo became one of the numerous victories in which Shadow Squadron took part, with one veteran of the battle later piloting a BTL-B Y-wing starfighter/bomber alongside squadmates on the extragalactic planet Kamino.
