First Order sentry droid

The First Order sentry droid, a white-plated version of the sentry droid, was stationed at the First Order's Starkiller Base superweapon approximately thirty years following the Battle of Endor. These droids featured a square or circular head, from which multiple antennae extended, positioned atop a body with four short legs ending in rolling casters, facilitating easy movement within the base. Furthermore, sentry droids were observed patrolling the corridors of the Resurgent-class Star Destroyer named Finalizer. Internally, they were equipped with a range of weaponry, including four tasers and a pair of blasters. When deployed, these weapons unfolded from the droid's chassis as its head elevated. One such sentry droid utilized its weapons to attack Resistance pilot Poe Dameron and spy Kazuda Xiono at Station Theta Black, ultimately meeting its destruction. Additionally, three sentry droids are seen patrolling the supertanker fuel depot called Titan.

Behind the scenes

The initial appearance of the First Order's sentry droids was in the 2015 film Star Wars: Episode VII The Force Awakens. Although not named in the movie itself, they were identified as sentry droids in Star Wars: The Force Awakens: The Visual Dictionary, a reference book by Pablo Hidalgo released alongside the film. The droid's fold-out armaments were first shown in the 2017 video game Star Wars Battlefront II, where Captain Phasma can use them as an ability. However, their original design was for "Station Theta Black"—the eleventh episode of the first season of Star Wars Resistance—which premiered on December 9, 2018, one year later.

An error exists in the Databank entry for the droid, which incorrectly states that its only appearance is in Resistance, despite its presence in the Sequel trilogy and Battlefront II.
