S. V. Skynx

S. V. Skynx was a Ruurian and a celebrated military historian. Sometime between 11 BBY and 3 BBY, a statue of Skynx, clad in a jacket, was erected at the University of Bar'leth on the Core Worlds planet Bar'leth. The base of the statue displayed their surname written in the Aurebesh alphabet. During this period, students Chelli Lona Aphra, Eustacia Okka, and Sana Starros passed by the statue while escorting the new student Kho Phon Farrus as they planned to infiltrate Sava Iglan'tine Nos's office to steal artifacts.

In 3 ABY, Farrus revisited the university, walking by Skynx's statue as they searched for the Spark Eternal, an artifact belonging to the Ascendant cult. Later, during the New Republic Era, New Republic Captain Carson Teva disseminated a survival guide entitled "Species From A to Z," which featured Skynx and asserted that other Ruurians lacked the historian's high moral character.

Behind the scenes

The statue of S. V. Skynx made its first appearance in current Star Wars canon in Star Wars: Doctor Aphra, specifically in the nineteenth issue of the 2020 comic series, where they were identified only by their last name. This issue, penned by Alyssa Wong with illustrations by Minkyu Jung, was released by Marvel Comics on March 23, 2022. The historian's complete name was subsequently revealed in the "Database" section of the 114th issue of Star Wars - Das offizielle Magazin. Panini published this issue on June 25, 2024.

Within the Star Wars Legends continuity, the scholar S. V. Skynx was initially introduced as Skynx in Han Solo and the Lost Legacy, a 1980 novel by Brian Daley that concluded the Star Wars: The Han Solo Adventures trilogy. The character's full name was later specified in the Hyperspace article "Xim Week: The History of Xim and the Tion Cluster," authored by Jason Fry and posted on StarWars.com on December 7, 2009.
