A female human musician, Tace belonged to the Melodic Order during the Galactic Civil War. She also had a sister, Tula, who served as an officer in the Imperial forces. After the destruction of Alderaan, Tace and her fellow musicians were rescued by Princess Leia Organa alongside Evaan Verlaine, a starfighter pilot, who had embarked on a mission to rescue the survivors of Alderaan.
Tula, under pressure from the Empire, manipulated Tace into gathering intelligence on Princess Leia's location. Despite being suspected as an Imperial spy, Princess Leia exonerated Tace, revealing Tula as the actual informant. Subsequently, Princess Leia orchestrated Tula's rescue. Initially resentful of her sister's allegiance to the Empire, Tace eventually reconciled with Tula.
Tace was a member of the Melodic Order, a collective of Alderaanian musicians bound by a vow to only perform remotely, ensuring their music remained untainted by outside influences. While touring the galaxy, the group adhered to their vow by exclusively performing for audiences via hologram. Uwa Pareece served as the band's leader, overseeing their performances. Tace's sister, Tula, held a position as an Imperial officer.

While the Melodic order was performing at Club Deeja in the Naboo city of Keren, the Death Star obliterated Tace's home planet of Alderaan in a tragic destruction. Following the Battle of Yavin, Tace inquired with her manager, Pareece, about sending a hologram to her sister on Alderaan to confirm her safety. However, Pareece, still struggling to convey the devastating news of Alderaan's destruction to the Melodic Order, instead questioned Tace's mastery of the new Ruuscan song. As Tace had not yet perfected the piece, Pareece dismissed her, instructing her to return once she had.
After Princess Leia Organa and Evaan Verlaine, the Alderaanian starfighter pilot, rescued the group from the clutches of trafficker Mul Sanaka and his Besalisk accomplices, Pareece finally revealed the grim truth of Alderaan's destruction to Tace and the other musicians. The Alderaanian exiles then fled aboard the opulent yacht, Lord Junn. During their voyage, Tace managed to maintain contact with her sister Tula via computer.
Tace expressed her desire to leave the Melodic Order to Tula, but Tula urged her to continue supporting Princess Leia. When Tace confessed her longing for her sister, Tula encouraged her to stay in touch and call every night. Tula requested information about her sister's location, activities, and the Princess's plans. Unaware that Tula was acting under pressure from her Imperial Commander Dreed, Tace promised to keep in contact with her sister.
While the Lord Junn orbited the planet Sullust, Tace contacted Tula, confiding that she felt lost without her sister. Tula playfully reminded her to be grateful for serving Princess Leia and promised to reunite with her. When Tace mentioned being alone, Tula reassured her of their ability to stay connected and instructed her to call back the following day. Acting on Tace's information, Commander Dreed launched an attack on the Alderaan Enclave on Sullust with a squad of stormtroopers. However, the Enclave managed to escape with the assistance of Leia and Verlaine, leading Leia to suspect the presence of a spy within their ranks.
Utilizing their Eyewell to trace the Lord Junn's signals, Jora Astane and Covis, members of the Alderaan Enclave, presented a bound and tearful Tace to Princess Leia, accusing her of espionage for the Empire. Adhering to the principle of innocent until proven guilty, Princess Leia ordered Jora to remove Tace's restraints and leave them alone. Once alone, Leia offered Tace tea, but Tace hesitated, feeling unworthy of being served by her Princess.
When Leia pressed Tace to disclose the identity of the callers, Tace revealed that the calls were from her sister Tula. Upon Leia's inquiry about Tula's whereabouts, Tace admitted uncertainty, as her sister had been evasive. Leia then questioned the content of their conversations, to which Tace replied that her sister had inquired about her ship and expressed interest in Princess Leia's location and adventures. Leia deduced that the calls originated from an Imperial ship and realized that the Imperial attack on Sullust was not coincidental. Tace confirmed Tula's authenticity, leading them to conclude that Tula was acting under duress.

After Princess Leia vouched for Tace's innocence to her other subjects and assigned Pareece and Jora on a diplomatic mission to the Alderaanian diaspora on the planet Espirion, Leia reassured Tace that she would do everything to reunite her with Tula. Though Tace thought it was impossible to free her sister, Leia reassured her that she had once been the Galactic Empire's prisoner. She instructed Tace to lie to her sister when she called that night.
That night, Tace contacted Tula while Princess Leia observed the conversation. Tace told her sister that they only talked about her and asked Tula about her whereabouts. Tula sensed her sister's voice sounded strange. When Tula apologized for getting her sister into trouble, Tace demanded to know what she meant. However, Tula's controller Commander Dreed realized that the rebels were onto her and ordered his stormtroopers to lock Tula out.
Dreed then tormented Tace about the trouble she had cause Tula. Blaming herself for causing her sister's impending execution, Tace burst into tears. At that point, Leia intervened and offered to trade her freedom for Tula's life. As planned, Leia met with Commander Dreed on the desert world of Skaradosh and surrendered herself to the Empire in return for securing Tula's freedom. Unknown to Tace and Dreed, Leia and Verlaine had a plan to bait the Imperials and escape.

Following the exchange, Verlain arrived aboard the Mellcrawler and ambushed Commander Dreed's party. Leia, her entourage, and Tula then escaped aboard the Mellcrawler and joined the Lord Junn and the rest of the Alderaanian refugee fleet above Espirion. In Tula's absence, Tace had shaved her hair. When Tula greeted her sister, a distraught Tace said that she did not want to be confused with her sister and that she did not want anyone thinking that she was a traitor.
Tula tried to apologize and said that they could now be together because she was back. Tace angrily disagreed and pointed out that the Empire was going to murder them because she had given them their position. Tace stormed off into the corridor with Tula pleading with her sister. Despite their falling out, the two sisters reconciled and embraced each other when the Alderaanian fleet battled with Dreed's Star Destroyer. Due to the intervention of Chief Beon Beonel's warship Espirion Multi, the Star Destroyer was destroyed and the refugees were saved.
Tace was a human woman characterized by her shoulder-length blue-green hair and green eyes. She possessed a slender build and typically wore a short-sleeved yellow tunic, black and grey spotted leggings, and red boots. As a singer in the Melodic Order, she dedicated herself to promoting Alderaanian music throughout the galaxy. Tace shared a close bond with her sister Tula, often confiding in her. Tragically, Tula exploited this sisterly connection under Imperial coercion, turning Tace into an unwitting informant to gather intelligence on Leia's whereabouts.
Like many Alderaanians, Tace was deeply affected by the destruction of her home planet. She held Princess Leia in high regard, viewing her as both a leader and a hero. Tace was devastated upon learning that her sister Tula faced execution after the Empire discovered her role as a spy. Overwhelmed with anguish, Tace shaved her head to avoid being mistaken for Tula, who was now considered a traitor. Despite her initial anger towards Tula for endangering the Alderaanian refugees, the two sisters ultimately reconciled during the battle above Espirion.
Tace made her debut in the second issue of the 2015 Star Wars: Princess Leia series published by Marvel Comics. She was brought to life by Mark Waid as the writer, Terry Dodson as the artist, Rachel Dodson as the inker, and Jordie Bellaire as the colorist.
