Mul Sanaka

title: Mul Sanaka

Club Deeja, an entertainment establishment situated in Keren, a city on the planet of Naboo, was owned and operated by a human named Mul Sanaka. During the Galactic Civil War, he was the employer of the Melodic Order, a band of Alderaanian musicians whose affairs were managed by Uwa Pareece. After the Galactic Empire annihilated the band's homeworld of Alderaan, Sanaka convinced Pareece to withhold this information from the musicians to ensure their performances at his club remained unaffected.

In 0 ABY, Princess Leia Organa of Alderaan arrived on Naboo with the intention of saving the Melodic Order from Imperial persecution. Sanaka, along with Lord Junn, an old acquaintance of Organa, devised a plot to murder her. However, their plan was ultimately thwarted when Pareece betrayed Sanaka and fatally shot him after Organa and her allies had defeated his henchmen.

Biography

Profiting from Deceit

Mul Sanaka owned Club Deeja, where he employed Uwa Pareece and the Melodic Order.

Club Deeja, an entertainment hotspot located in the Marina District of Keren on the picturesque planet Naboo, was under the ownership of Mul Sanaka. During the Galactic Civil War between the Galactic Empire and the Alliance to Restore the Republic, Sanaka provided employment to the Melodic Order, a secluded group of musicians hailing from the planet Alderaan. They performed at his club via hologram. In the year 0 BBY, the Empire obliterated the Alderaanians' homeworld. However, Sanaka managed to persuade Uwa Pareece, the Melodic Order's manager, to conceal this devastating news from the musicians, fearing it would negatively impact their performances and, consequently, his profits.

In 0 ABY, shortly after the Battle of Yavin, Princess Leia Organa of Alderaan journeyed to Naboo in pursuit of the Order. Her objective was to gather the Alderaanians who had survived the destruction of their homeworld, as the Empire was actively hunting them down. Upon her arrival on Naboo, she encountered Lord Junn, an old acquaintance from her childhood. Junn then contacted the club owner, as they had a pre-existing business relationship and Sanaka owed him a debt. He alerted Sanaka to Organa's arrival, enabling him to prepare an ambush to assassinate her, and subsequently directed Organa to Sanaka and the band.

A Failed Ambush

Mul Sanaka set a trap for Princess Leia Organa at Club Deeja.

Upon reaching Club Deeja, Organa feigned being an Imperial official, using the alias "First Minister Solo." Sanaka, fully aware of her true identity, played along with the deception. He agreed to hand over the musicians, claiming he was tired of paying them, but then stated that his Besalisk enforcer, Snes, would escort Organa to the Alderaanians while he got a drink.

As Sanaka departed, Snes disarmed Organa and her companions, the pilot Evaan Verlaine and the astromech droid R2-D2. While confiscating their weapons, Snes inadvertently revealed that she knew Organa's true identity by addressing her as princess. Realizing they were walking into a trap, Organa and her companions launched an attack on Snes, prompting two additional Besalisk thugs who had been waiting inside the club to rush out and assist Snes in the fight. Despite this, Organa and her companions managed to defeat all three assailants.

Mul Sanaka unsuccessfully attempted to kill Leia Organa.

With his plan ruined by his thugs' incompetence, Sanaka was forced to intervene personally. Armed with a blaster rifle, he prepared to shoot Organa, who was oblivious to his approach. However, Pareece had witnessed the princess's battle with the Besalisks and recognized her as Alderaanian royalty. Weary of betraying her own people, Pareece experienced a change of heart and shot Sanaka in the back with the princess's blaster pistol, taking the club owner by surprise and killing him.

Pareece then begged Organa for forgiveness, and together they informed the Melodic Order of Alderaan's fate. All of the Alderaanians then departed Naboo together aboard a starship provided by the treacherous Junn under duress from Organa.

Personality and traits

Mul Sanaka persuaded Uwa Pareece to keep Alderaan's destruction a secret from the Melodic Order to protect his profits.

Mul Sanaka was a human characterized by dark skin, blue eyes, and black hair, including a beard. He was willing to conceal the news of Alderaan's destruction from his employees, fearing it would negatively impact his profits if they were aware, believing they performed better when happy.

Despite knowing that the Melodic Order would have to violate its vow to avoid outside influences on their music if they played in person, he attempted to persuade Uwa Pareece to have them perform on stage at Club Deeja. He found several of their members attractive and believed their live presence would attract larger crowds, resulting in greater credits for him.

When Pareece momentarily forgot that Alderaan was gone, Sanaka offered comfort, reminding her of the benefits of keeping secrets from the band. When he later learned of a potential reward for capturing Princess Leia Organa and handing her and the band over to the Empire, he was willing to part ways with them for a greater profit. After Snes and her thugs were defeated by the Alderaanians, Sanaka complained to himself about their incompetence and then prepared to shoot the princess himself.

Equipment

Sanaka wore blue robes with a cloak and hat, complemented by a golden necklace. When attempting to kill Princess Leia Organa, he wielded a blaster rifle.
