A Human male named Threnoldt held the position of commanding officer within the reconstituted Sith Empire's Imperial Reclamation Service. This military organization was tasked with the location and retrieval of ancient artifacts for use as weapons against the Empire's adversaries. During both the Cold War and the Galactic War, he possessed the rank of general. On Belsavis, a Republic planet used as a prison, Threnoldt orchestrated the Empire's strategy to counter the danger presented by Soa, an ancient Rakatan warlord. Subsequently, he briefed the Dark Council, the governing body of the Empire, concerning the menace of emerging monstrosities originating from a Gree hypergate situated on Asation, a world within the Gree Enclave, during the initial years of the Galactic War.
As a general within the reconstituted Sith Empire's Imperial Reclamation Service, Threnoldt extended an offer to Captain Barden Golah, the leader of a service expedition, to join the service's headquarters in 3643 BBY following Golah's assignment on the desert planet of Tatooine. Golah's team was sent to Tatooine to find ancient technology previously held by Czerka Corporation. During Darth Thanaton's brief tenure on the Dark Council as the leader of the Sphere of Ancient Knowledge, which oversaw the service, Threnoldt developed a close professional relationship with the Sith Lord.

Around 3640 BBY, in the Galactic War's inaugural year, the Sith Empire initiated an invasion of Belsavis, a Republic prison planet. The Republic had established a prison on Belsavis to contain the galaxy's most dangerous criminals, constructing it atop the ruins of an ancient Rakatan prison. An Imperial bombing run on the planet exposed a previously sealed section of the ancient prison, known to its Rakatan creators as the Eternity Vault, which had been sealed for over 20,000 years. Reclamation Service personnel translated Rakatan inscriptions, comparing them to other writings discovered across the galaxy, which referenced the vault's primary prisoner, an ancient Rakatan warlord called the "Infernal One." Threnoldt personally selected a team of Imperial heroes to journey to Belsavis and defeat the ancient threat. Following the mission's success and the warlord's defeat, Threnoldt deployed additional personnel to explore the vault.
The following year, the Sith Empire established initial contact with the Gree species, who sought Imperial assistance in quelling a threat instigated by the Dread Host, the forces of the rebellious Dread Masters, on Asation, a Gree Enclave world. Threnoldt directly reported on this matter to the Dark Council.

Threnoldt, a Human male with fair skin, black hair, and brown eyes, was a dedicated commanding officer who proactively recruited Imperial heroes to confront the threat posed by the Eternity Vault's prisoners. He held archaeologist Talos Drellik in high regard and appreciated working directly with the Dark Council. While firmly believing in the necessity of the Reclamation Service for the Sith Empire, the general was willing to seek additional assistance when required. Prior to the Eternity Vault operation, he doubted that the Rakata had governed the Sith on Korriban, the ancient homeworld of the Sith species, millennia ago. He possessed the acumen to identify serious threats to the Empire but did not allow fear to paralyze him.
Threnoldt made an appearance in Star Wars: The Old Republic, the video game developed in 2011 by BioWare and LucasArts. He served as the primary quest giver for all Imperial player classes during the game's inaugural operation, the Eternity Vault.
