Uhumele

The Uhumele, piloted by the smuggler Schurk-Heren who also captained it, was a L4000 transport. Following a failed attempt at hijacking by Dass Jennir and Bomo Greenbark, Schurk-Heren took the pair aboard as passengers after they fled the Battle of Half-Axe Pass.

History

Ko Vakier in the Uhumele gun turret

After a conflict erupted over the famed Jebble Box, the Uhumele located it. Heren intended to sell the box to Haka Hai, but during a layover on New Plympto, the ship's crew chose to assist Bomo Greenbark and Dass Jennir, who were on the run, in their search for Bomo's family. Their search, however, led to a tragic end: Bomo's wife was murdered, and his daughter was cannibalized. Jennir then killed both the slave master and the one who devoured the girl, which enraged Greenbark, leading him to reveal his identity as a Jedi. After Jennir vanished and Bomo became part of the crew, they resumed their initial mission. As a precaution, however, Heren hid the Box inside a crate within the rings of an ice giant.

On Mimban, Heren's concerns were validated when Hai attempted to seize the crate without paying. After a three-way skirmish involving the crew, Hai, and his second-in-command Lumbra, the crew was imprisoned so the location of the real crate could be determined. Bomo, using his cunning, eliminated Hai and his henchmen, and they left the planet.

Three weeks later, while in the Expansion Region, the Uhumele recovered the crate. Heren, now more eager to be rid of it, made plans to sell it to Fane Peturri, a renowned historian without any connections to the criminal underworld. However, Peturri was secretly an agent of the Empire, who had learned about the crate from Janks. Upon their arrival with the crate, Peturri was awaiting them with Darth Vader and stormtroopers from the 501st Legion. The Uhumele then quickly escaped, outmaneuvering a force of two Venator-class Star Destroyers and pursuing fighters.

Subsequently, the remaining members of the crew ended up on Kidron, where Captain Heren became intoxicated, and the crew encountered the Jedi fugitive Beyghor Sahdett.
