Unidentified New Republic captain

A male officer holding the rank of captain served the forces of the New Republic during the conflict known as the Galactic Civil War against the opposing forces of the Galactic Empire. He held the position of commanding officer of the former Imperial Star Destroyer named Deliverance, which served as the flagship for General Hera Syndulla. While Syndulla was pursuing the 204th Imperial Fighter Wing, the Deliverance was subjected to an attack by sabotage droids that had been left behind by the 204th, which ultimately resulted in the death of the captain. Following his demise, his executive officer, Commander Nisteen Arvad, was elevated to the rank of captain and took command of the Deliverance.

Biography

The captain, a male individual, was a member of the New Republic's fleet during the Galactic Civil War against the Galactic Empire. He was in command of the Deliverance, a former Imperial Star Destroyer that served as the flagship for General Hera Syndulla's Barma Battle Group. Commander Nisteen Arvad served as his second-in-command. Syndulla considered the captain to be competent in critical situations.

In 5 ABY, during the chase of the 204th Imperial Fighter Wing by the Deliverance, the Star Destroyer came under attack from sabotage droids planted by the 204th, due to the fighter wing's Lieutenant Palal Seedia infiltrating the New Republic crew. The captain sustained injuries at the bottom of a turbolift shaft, and with Arvad's whereabouts unknown, the Deliverance's bridge was left without leadership. Syndulla, receiving no communication from the bridge, hoped the captain was simply at his post but unable to respond. Eventually, the general's aide, Stornvein, arrived at the bridge and assumed control. The captain perished as a result of the assault, and Commander Arvad was subsequently promoted to succeed him.

Later in the same year, during the events of the Battle of Jakku, Seedia confessed her actions to New Republic pilot Wyl Lark, claiming responsibility for the fatalities caused by the attack. Lark remembered that the captain was one of only two individuals who lost their lives during the incident.
