Unidentified stormtrooper squad leader

This stormtrooper was a male human who served as a stormtrooper officer within the ranks of the Imperial Army. Along with his subordinates, he made an appearance at Old Jho's Pit Stop while searching for a treasonus woman known as Ria Clarr. As his investigation continued, his squad made their way into Lothal re-settlement camp 43, where he met his end, shot from behind by someone who had taken control of an Imperial Troop Transport.

Biography

Four years prior to the Battle of Yavin, a male human held the rank of Stormtrooper Commander in the Imperial Stormtrooper Corps and was stationed on Lothal, a planet situated in the Outer Rim.

The stormtrooper took a squad of two troopers to Old Jho's Pit Stop on Jhothal to find a rebel by the name of Ria Clarr. When they arrived, Jho, who owned the cantina, offered them some drinks, but the commanding officer angrily turned him down. He then showed Jho a holographic image of Clarr and questioned him. Lando Calrissian, who was observing the scene with Cikatro Vizago, intervened and provided a clue regarding Clarr's location. Without thanking Calrissian, the stormtrooper and his team immediately departed the cantina.

His squad traveled to Tarkintown aboard an Imperial Troop Transport to keep looking into the traitor. He ran into Calrissian and Vizago once more in the town, and in a domineering tone, he demanded to know where Clarr was, clearly suspicious. Meanwhile, without the trooper's knowledge, Clarr stealthily approached the transport they had arrived in while Calrissian was trying to divert their attention. As the squad leader made a threat, Calrissian said that he and Vizago were more valuable alive than dead because they were rebels. The trooper then gave the order to his men to use stuncuffs to restrain them so they could be brought to Agent [Kallus](/article/alexsandr_kallus]; however, a laser blast from the Imperial Troop Transport, which Clarr had hijacked, struck him in the back, killing him. The refugees in the settlement camp also put down his two stormtrooper allies, and their loss sparked a spirit of resistance in Tarkintown.

Personality and traits

The stormtrooper displayed a strong prejudice against alien species and possessed a bad temper. When Jho offered refreshments to his squad, he accused the Ithorian of attempting to poison an officer of the Empire, and he insulted him by calling him "leatherneck."

Equipment

The stormtrooper was armed with a blaster rifle and wore stormtrooper armor that included an orange pauldron, which denoted his position as Stormtrooper Commander.

Behind the scenes

The stormtrooper's first appearance, without a name, was in Rebel Bluff, a canon short story penned by Michael Kogge. It was released on July 9, 2015 as part of Star Wars Insider 158.
