This Advanced Recon Force trooper, holding the rank of commander, participated in the Clone Wars from its early stages. This Clone Commander, accompanied by a lieutenant from the same unit, received the assignment to locate Jabba Desilijic Tiure's offspring, Rotta, who had been abducted by individuals working as bounty hunters.
This clone was both a Clone Commander and an Advanced Recon Force Scout Trooper within the Grand Army of the Republic during the Clone Wars, and operated as part of a specific regiment. He was created on the planet of Kamino using the DNA of Jango Fett, a bounty hunter whose genetic material served as the template for the entire clone trooper army.
When crime lord Jabba Desilijic Tiure's son, Rotta, was taken by alleged bounty hunters, the commander and an ARF trooper lieutenant were sent in a Nu-class attack/transport shuttle to find them and Rotta. Jabba also deployed his own bounty hunters to find his son, and the ARF troopers tracked them to the B'omarr Order Monastery on Teth. The commander instructed the lieutenant to contact Jedi General Mace Windu and then briefed him on the situation.
The commander explained to Windu that the monastery's defenses were too strong for them to handle alone, and he was instructed to remain hidden and await further instructions. After Jedi General Anakin Skywalker and the 501st Legion arrived in the Teth system, the ARF troopers left the surface of Teth and boarded Skywalker's Acclamator-class transgalactic military assault ship. Upon landing in the hangar, the lieutenant assured Skywalker that they had remained undetected, highlighting their skills as the regiment's best scouts. The lieutenant also reported that at least two droid battalions were guarding the monastery, making a direct landing impossible. Skywalker thanked the lieutenant for the information and told both troopers to get some rest.
This clone, serving as both an ARF trooper and a commander, specialized in covert operations and reconnaissance, making him one of the most skilled scouts in his unit. He possessed the ability to assess enemy strength and determine when an attack was not advisable. Furthermore, he and the lieutenant were capable of operating a Nu-class shuttle.
The commander's gear included green camouflaged Phase I ARF armor with yellow markings on the visor. A Nu-class attack shuttle served as his primary mode of transportation during missions. Like all clones, he had a behavioral modification biochip implanted at birth to ensure compliance with specific orders.
The ARF Clone Commander made his first appearance, though without a specific name, in the animated film Star Wars: The Clone Wars, released in the United States on August 15, 2008, under the direction of Dave Filoni. He is erroneously identified as Rex in the subtitles of the DVD and Disney+ versions.
