Attack on a pirate station

The Accresker Jail, a wreckage-prison, launched an assault on a pirate station. Sana Starros voiced her belief that the attack was connected to the Galactic Empire's bandit purges. Three Imperial-class Star Destroyers severely damaged the station, enabling the Accresker Penal Legion to board and eliminate the pirates. During this conflict, Chelli Lona Aphra, Lopset Yas, and Dek-Nil attempted to flee. Magna Tolvan tried to rescue them, but a Force spirit interfered, leading Aphra to discover an ancient Jedi starship.

Prelude

Circa 1 ABY, Chelli Lona Aphra successfully stole the data core from Hivebase-1, the Tarkin Initiative's R&D facility. This core was handed over to Hera Syndulla, a General in the Rebel Alliance. Nevertheless, Aphra encrypted the data, preventing the rebels from accessing it unless they paid her a fee.

Aphra's escape plan is foiled by a Force-spirit

Simultaneously, Lieutenant-Inspector Magna Tolvan captured Aphra and her droideka, Dek-Nil, imprisoning them within the wreckage-prison known as Accresker Jail. As a prisoner, she was part of the Accresker Penal Legion, and during an attack on an EF76 Nebulon-B escort frigate, she and Dek-Nil tried to escape alongside the shape-shifter Lopset Yas. However, a Force spirit intervened, manipulating Dek's restraining bolt and allowing his Imperial programming to take over.

Following the battle, Aphra underwent interrogation by two Imperial officers, but their initial attempts were unsuccessful. Yas, having acquired a transmitter, entrusted it to Aphra, recognizing her connections. Aphra used it to contact Tolvan, compelling her to attempt a rescue by revealing her knowledge of secrets pertaining to Darth Vader. She threatened that if the interrogation officer discovered this, Tolvan would be implicated. Concurrently, Hera Syndulla enlisted Sana Starros to capture Aphra, aiming to gain access to the Hivebase-1 memory core.

The battle

During the bandit purges executed by the Galactic Empire, a pirate station suffered an assault from three Imperial-class Star Destroyers, which disabled its weaponry. The Accresker Jail then rammed the station, and the Accresker Penal Legion was deployed to clear it. As the station was under attack, Starros arrived in her ship, the Volt Cobra, making her way toward the prison.

Accresker Jail attacks the pirate station

As the Accresker Penal Legion prepared to board the station, they were immediately engaged by the pirates, resulting in a significant firefight. Aphra, eager to escape, used Imperial authority code 6690B1 to regain control of Dek-Nil and, along with Lopset Yas, slipped away from the battle. They reached a rendezvous point where Magna Tolvan arrived in a TIE fighter to pick them up. However, the Force spirit reappeared and disabled the sensor disruptors that had been concealing Tolvan's craft from the Empire. The spirit then guided Aphra to a mysterious Jedi starship, prompting her to investigate. Tolvan, anxious to escape undetected, demanded Aphra's return. Aphra, captivated by the ancient ship, abandoned Tolvan in her fighter and followed the spirit.

As Accresker command demanded Tolvan's identification, the Volt Cobra attacked her TIE fighter, causing damage. Starros attempted to warn Tolvan, but she ejected from her TIE with a rocket launcher just as it exploded, using it to shoot down the Volt Cobra. Meanwhile, the Force spirit used the Force to dismantle Dek-Nil in front of Aphra and Yas. Aphra attacked the spirit, which vanished into the Jedi starship, revealing an infestation of gundravian hookspores possessing the dead body of an ancient Jedi. Aphra fired at the spores, but couldn't harm them. As they investigated the hookspores, the fight between the Accresker Penal Legion and the pirates ended, and the convicts were ordered back to the prison. Aphra and Yas fled from the receding airdome, with Yas carrying Dek-Nil's central processor to prevent their proximity bombs from detonating. Upon meeting up with Tolvan, Aphra discovered that Starros was with her, but a hubdroid spotted them and demanded they surrender their weapons and retreat.

Aftermath

Darth Vader arrives on Accresker Jail.

Aphra was once more subjected to interrogation by the two Imperial officers, this time using a Bor. She was compelled to disclose her knowledge of the hookspores to conceal her knowledge of Vader. Consequently, Accresker command decided to decommission Accresker Jail and send it hurtling towards the Rebel planet Tiferep Major. Desperate to escape, Aphra and her companions tricked Tam Posla into delivering a shuttle to them, trading Yas, disguised as Posla's nemesis Cornelius Evazan, for it. With Starros already ejected in an escape pod, Aphra and Tolvan attempted to escape on the shuttle when the protocol droid 0-0-0 arrived to capture Aphra. Furthermore, Darth Vader, whom Tolvan had contacted as a last resort, also arrived. Facing capture, Aphra decided to use the interrogation Bor to erase her own brain.
