During the Galactic Empire's dominance, one particular male was known as Baroosh Pawk, a Cloud-Riders member. His origins lay on a planet ravaged by criminal syndicates, which drove him to join the Cloud-Riders, a pirate group under Enfys Nest, whose homeworlds suffered similarly. In 10 BBY, the Cloud-Riders discovered Tobias Beckett's plan to pilfer a coaxium shipment, a valuable hyperfuel, for Crimson Dawn from an imperial 20-T Railcrawler conveyex transport on Vandor. Seeking to seize the coaxium to fuel an uprising against the Empire and the criminal elements plaguing the galaxy, the raiders, on their swoop bikes, ambushed Beckett's team and the train. In the ensuing conflict, Pawk boarded the Y-45 armored transport hauler piloted by Rio Durant and shot Durant in the back, fatally wounding him. However, Durant returned fire, killing Pawk. The two groups of thieves continued their struggle, but the coaxium was ultimately destroyed, forcing the Cloud-Riders to retreat, leaving their fallen comrade behind.
Baroosh Pawk, a male, served within the ranks of Enfys Nest's Cloud-Riders. He originated from a world devastated by a network of criminal organizations, including Crimson Dawn, collectively known as the Five Crime Syndicates. The horrors inflicted upon his home world by these syndicates ultimately led him to align with the Cloud-Riders, a band of marauders whose own planets had endured similar suffering at the hands of the Five Syndicates. Pawk, alongside his Cloud-Rider comrades, aimed to oppose the tyranny of both the Galactic Empire and the criminal syndicates colluding with them. As a member of the pirate group, Pawk embraced a nomadic existence, traversing the galaxy aboard a carrier ship named the Aerie. It was from the Aerie that the group launched their raids, plundering cargo and valuables to support their resistance against the criminal syndicates and the Empire. During these raids, Pawk often partnered with swoop pilot Tayshin Maxa, leaping from their swoop onto the vehicles targeted by the Cloud-Riders.
In the year 10 BBY, the Cloud-Riders became aware of Imperial plans to transport a vulnerable shipment of the hyperfuel coaxium across the frontier world of Vandor, hoping to seize the coaxium to fund an uprising against the criminal gangs that tyrannized peaceful planets. Piloting their signature swoop bikes, Pawk and the Cloud-Riders descended upon the Imperial 20-T Railcrawler conveyex transport ICC-5537 that carried the shipment across the Iridium Mountains to Crispin Imperial Depository. As they approached the train they found that a rival gang of thieves working for Crimson Dawn led by Tobias Beckett beat them to their mark.
Undeterred by the competition, the marauders moved forward with their plan and exchanged fire with the other gang. Riding in the sidecar of a Caelli-Merced Halberd-441 swoop bike piloted by his partner Tayshin Maxa, Pawk leapt aboard a Y-45 armored transport hauler piloted by Rio Durant. As he approached the ship's cockpit, Durant took notice of the commotion and shot at him. Pawk returned fire and fatally wounded Durant in the shoulder and back. However in the midst of their clash, Durant managed to shoot Pawk as well, killing him.
While Pawk was boarding the transport hauler, the Cloud-Riders fired grappling hooks onto the transport car carrying the coaxium. The opposing gang of criminals had lifted the car with the Y-45 armored transport hauler, and it hung between the two groups as they attempted to escape. When the transport car drew dangerously close to a mountain, the new pilot of the hauler, Han Solo, released the car to avoid a collision, forcing the Cloud-Riders to do the same and leaving their prize to tumble into the mountainside. To escape the ensuing explosion, the Cloud-Riders were then forced to withdraw from the planet empty-handed, leaving behind the deceased Pawk, whose body was still aboard the other gang's ship.
Within the Cloud-Riders, Pawk functioned as a climber and skydiver. He was known for his audacity, often prioritizing daring maneuvers over careful planning, as demonstrated by his habit of leaping onto target vessels from the sidecar of the swoop he shared with Tayshin Maxa while in midair.
To conceal his identity, Pawk consistently wore a traditional Ubese tracking helmet adorned with buphasian feathers. His jacket sleeves were embellished with narglatch teeth, and he sported a transponder on his lapel for signaling his fellow Cloud-Riders for extraction. He wielded a tibanna-jacked DH-17 blaster pistol equipped with a vibrobayonet. Pawk frequently partnered with the pilot Tayshin Maxa during missions, riding in the sidecar of a Caelli-Merced Halberd-441 swoop bike. Their swoop was extensively customized with unique painted designs and flags.
Baroosh Pawk made his debut in the 2018 film Solo: A Star Wars Story, with his identification first appearing in the companion reference book, Solo: A Star Wars Story The Official Guide, authored by Pablo Hidalgo. He was portrayed in the film by an uncredited stunt performer. Costume designer Glyn Dillon noted that Pawk's mask represented another iteration of the Cloud Rider masks designed by Tonči Zonjić, featuring a horsehair headdress, and also cited the 1980s British band Sigue Sigue Sputnik as a significant influence on Pawk's overall appearance.
