Edrison Peavey

Edrison Peavey was a captain in the First Order Navy, a male human who fought against the Resistance during their war. A veteran who previously served in the Galactic Empire, Peavey became a military officer within the First Order's armed forces roughly thirty decades after the Empire's ultimate defeat during the Galactic Civil War. As a high-ranking member of the Finalizer, a _Resurgent_-class Star Destroyer, Peavey was under the command of General Armitage Hux, who was the illegitimate son of General Brendol Hux, a contemporary of Peavey's. The Imperial veteran considered his commanding officer to be an example of both nepotism and incompetence, but as a professional officer, he chose to keep these thoughts to himself.

Biography

Edrison Peavey belonged to the generation of Imperial veterans that established the First Order. He lived through the fall of the Galactic Empire, which subsequently led to the rise of the New Republic at the conclusion of the Galactic Civil War in 5 ABY. Peavey, a contemporary of General Brendol Hux, who created the First Order stormtrooper training program, served on the Finalizer, a _Resurgent-class Star Destroyer, with Hux's illegitimate son, General Armitage Hux. Despite both being leading officers on the ship's bridge, the vessel served as the flagship of Kylo Ren. Following the Battle of Starkiller Base, Peavey was present when the First Order Navy deployed a fleet of Star Destroyers to the planet D'Qar, where he pointed out that their forces had caught the Resistance during an evacuation. Hux was irritated by Peavey's remark, viewing the older officer as a relic from the Imperial Era.

Captain Edrison Peavey was an Imperial veteran who privately regarded young First Order officers, such as General Armitage Hux, with disdain.

Normally, when Hux was away, Peavey, as the command ship's captain, would command the Finalizer due to his status. However, after the Resistance escaped D'Qar, he and his general were transferred to the Mega-class Star Dreadnought Supremacy, which served as the flagship of Supreme Leader Snoke. The First Order utilized cutting edge technology to follow the Resistance fleet through hyperspace, pursued their prey to the Crait system, but were unable to completely destroy them, which frustrated Hux. Peavey explained to his younger commanding officer that the Supremacy's size made it too slow; while the Resistance could not outrun the Star Dreadnought, their smaller starships could stay outside the range of its turbolasers. The First Order continued to chase the Resistance, forcing them to deplete their fuel. During this pursuit, Hux instructed Peavey to order the Supremacy's gunners to continue firing, wanting the Resistance to know they were still being hunted.

Peavey served as captain of the Resurgent-class Star Destroyer Finalizer, General Hux's command ship.

As the Resistance's support ships were destroyed one by one, the MC85 Star Cruiser Raddus became vulnerable with critically low fuel. After discovering that the Raddus was just a distraction, Hux commanded Peavey to disregard the Resistance flagship and focus the Supremacy's turbolasers on the transports carrying the Raddus's crew to the planet Crait. Peavey noticed the Raddus changing direction, but Hux told him to ignore the cruiser, believing it was simply trying to divert the First Order's attention from the transports. By the time they realized that the Raddus was preparing to enter hyperspace while facing the Supremacy, it was too late to react. Despite their attempts to protect the Supreme Leader's flagship, the Raddus jumped through lightspeed and crashed into the Supremacy, splitting the dreadnought in half and destroying several Star Destroyers. However, both Peavey and Hux survived the attack and deployed the First Order Army to Crait, where the Resistance had taken refuge in an outpost that was once used by the Alliance to Restore the Republic.

Peavey and Hux oversaw the Battle of Crait from the command shuttle of Kylo Ren, the dark warrior who succeeded Snoke as the new Supreme Leader of the First Order. Despite their forces overwhelming the Resistance and capturing the base, the war for the galaxy continued as a small group of survivors escaped the battle aboard the Millennium Falcon. When Galactic Emperor Sheev Palpatine returned to the galaxy, Peavey, like many other former Imperial officers within the First Order, quickly joined Palpatine.

Personality and traits

Although he despised General Hux, Captain Peavey felt duty-bound to obey his commanding officer.

Edrison Peavey, a veteran of the Galactic Empire, maintained the values he learned while serving in the Imperial Navy, holding the chain of command in high regard. As a professional officer of the First Order, Peavey typically maintained a formal and disciplined demeanor while on duty. He also kept his true feelings about General Armitage Hux hidden because Hux was his commanding officer. Having witnessed Hux's rise to power through questionable means and nepotism, the Imperial veteran held the young general in contempt, viewing him as an arrogant schemer with a poor understanding of tactics. Despite his dislike for Hux, Peavey was careful to keep his face neutral when Commander Poe Dameron made the general look foolish.

Peavey thought Hux could defeat the Resistance, but he believed it was only a matter of time before the general proved himself unfit to hold the authority of his rank. In Peavey's opinion, Hux was an incompetent officer and an impetuous leader, a revolutionary full of passion and zeal, but whose glory would be short-lived. While he also thought poorly of Hux's late father, Brendol, whom he considered a madman, Peavey believed the elder Hux had a better understanding of military protocol than his son.

While Peavey had little respect for Hux, he was impressed by Captain Yago, whose gunnery teams showed excellent accuracy during their attack on the Resistance transports. Wanting to prevent resentment from growing within the Navy's higher ranks, he believed the Supremacy's gunners deserved praise for their skill and contribution to the destruction of the Resistance. He also paid little attention to the Raddus after learning that its crew had abandoned ship. Even as the cruiser appeared to be fleeing the battle, Peavey believed the ship's captain was simply trying to draw the First Order away from the transports. He was mildly surprised when Hux ordered him to ignore the Resistance flagship, secretly hoping the general wouldn't make a hasty decision. However, Peavey was horrified when he realized that the Raddus was about to execute a hyperspace ramming attack on the Supremacy.

Peavey was a male human with light skin, blue eyes, and graying blond hair during his service in the First Order.
