Following Supreme Chancellor Sheev Palpatine's issuance of Order 66, Fox participated in Operation: Knightfall.
Entrusted with securing the entry and exit points of the Jedi Temple, Fox's unit, under the direction of his commanding officer, Clone Commander Appo, encountered Senator Bail Organa, who sought to investigate the situation. Appo instructed Organa to depart, but before he could, a sudden assault was launched by Padawan Zett Jukassa, who managed to incapacitate Appo during his attempt to flee. Fox responded by fatally shooting the Padawan. However, having become disillusioned with the constant warfare, the sergeant made the decision to allow Organa to escape the scene.
Designated CT-0000/1010, this particular clone was a replica of the human male bounty hunter known as Jango Fett. He was created on the planet Kamino with the specific purpose of serving as a clone trooper within the Grand Army of the Galactic Republic. Throughout the entirety of the Clone Wars, a conflict between the Republic and the Confederacy of Independent Systems, he served within the ranks of the 501st Legion. A significant portion of his service was spent stationed on Coruscant, which served as the capital of the Republic.
By the year 19 BBY, CT-0000/1010 had achieved the rank of Clone Sergeant and was known by the moniker Fox. In that year, Supreme Chancellor Sheev Palpatine disseminated Order 66 to all clone forces, instructing them to kill all members of the Jedi Order. The sergeant was part of the 501st forces, under the leadership of the Sith Lord Darth Vader, during the siege of the Jedi Temple on Coruscant, an event known as Operation: Knightfall.
The responsibility of guarding the entrances and exits of the temple fell to Fox's unit. On the day following the initial assault, he, along with several other troopers and Clone Commander Appo, were stationed on one of the temple's landing platforms when Senator Bail Organa arrived in a landspeeder to investigate the events unfolding. Appo asserted that the Jedi had betrayed the Republic and promptly ordered Organa to leave. However, as the senator attempted to comply, the Jedi Padawan Zett Jukassa launched an attack on Appo and his men.
As the commander and those nearby were struck down, the remaining clones opened fire on the young Jedi. A shot from Fox's blaster proved fatal. Organa swiftly departed the scene in his speeder as the clones prepared to target him as well. However, with Appo wounded, the sergeant issued the order for his men to stand down. A year later, in 18 BBY, Organa continued to experience nightmares centered around Fox's killing of Jukassa. These dreams varied, sometimes depicting the senator saving the Padawan, and other times showing him being killed alongside him by the clones.
Throughout the Clone Wars, Fox remained a loyal soldier, but as the conflict neared its end, he grew weary of the fighting. The act of killing Jukassa during Order 66 proved to be the breaking point, leading him to lose all desire for battle and prompting him to allow Organa to escape. As a clone of Fett, Fox's height was 1.83 meters.
Fox was equipped with Phase II clone trooper armor adorned with the blue markings of the 501st Legion. He utilized a DC-15A blaster rifle as his primary weapon.
Fox made an appearance in the prequel trilogy film titled Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith, which was released on May 19, 2005. His scene was filmed against a blue screen on a raised set on Monday, July 28, 2003 at Stage 5 of Shepperton Studios. Similar to all the clones featured in the film, his voice was provided by Temuera Morrison, and his appearance was generated using CGI.
Although the sergeant was not explicitly named in the film, he was identified within the current Star Wars canon through the mobile card game Star Wars: Force Collection, which was initially launched in 2013. Despite the launch of Force Collection predating the Star Wars canon reset of 2014, Lucasfilm Story Group member Leland Chee confirmed that the game was consistently updated to align with canon. The designation and nickname originated within the Star Wars Legends continuity, where they were first utilized in the article titled "Guide to the Grand Army of the Republic," authored by Karen Traviss and Ryan Kaufman, and published in Star Wars Insider 84 on September 26, 2005. Furthermore, Fox appeared in Legends prior to the film's release in the novelization of Revenge of the Sith, penned by Matthew Stover and released on April 2, 2005.
