Gideon's light cruiser

Gideon's light cruiser was a Class 546 model variation of the Arquitens-class command cruiser, serving under the authority of Moff Gideon in the years following the Battle of Endor. During the rescue operation to save his foundling, Grogu, from Gideon's clutches, the Mandalorian Din Djarin, along with his allied companions, successfully commandeered the ship and took the moff into custody. The light cruiser also housed a platoon of Phase-III Dark Troopers, who were ultimately annihilated by Djarin and Jedi Master Luke Skywalker. Subsequent to this, control of the cruiser was transferred to Bo-Katan Kryze. Following the departure of Kryze's forces, stemming from her refusal to claim the Darksaber from Din Djarin, command of the vessel was assumed by Axe Woves, who utilized it for mercenary endeavors and later as the flagship of the Mandalorian garrison. Ultimately, the vessel met its end during the conflict on Mandalore, when Woves intentionally piloted the ship on a direct course to collide with Gideon's Imperial base, resulting in the deaths of the Moff and his remaining forces.

Description

Serving as Moff Gideon's mobile command center, the Arquitens-class command cruiser bore the symbol of the mythosaur on its ventral side after its capture by the Mandalorians. This was reminiscent of Thrawn's flagship, the Imperial I-class Star Destroyer Chimaera, which featured the symbol of the chimaera on its underside.

Behind the scenes

The light cruiser made its initial appearance in "Chapter 12: The Siege," an episode of the live-action television series The Mandalorian that was broadcast in 2020. Its realization involved the construction of a meticulously crafted five-foot scale model.
