Glowblue noodles were a dish of noodle variety, notable for their blue coloration, and crafted by the chef known as Gormaanda. She presented the preparation of this recipe within a cooking holovids episode. With simple adjustments to suit various diets, these noodles were suitable for consumption by both humans and Artiodacs such as Strono Tuggs. Tuggs later included Gormaanda's recipe within his publication, The Official Black Spire Outpost Cookbook, in the year 34 ABY. They could be served in various ways, including in take-out containers, alongside chav tea, or with a topping of sauce.
The bright blue noodle dish known as Glowblue noodles was conceived by the four-armed chef Gormaanda, who demonstrated the recipe in one of her cooking holovids. The fundamental recipe for this dish could be adapted to accommodate a spectrum of diets, making it appropriate for consumption by both humans and Artiodacs.

Glowblue noodles were sold in take-out containers on the planet of Morlana One during 5 BBY. An officer belonging to the Pre-Mor Security Inspection team was seen eating these noodles from a take-out box at a workstation inside Corporate Security Headquarters while attempting to identify Cassian Andor as a murder suspect. At another point during the Imperial Era, the noodles were served at a pavilion located on the moon of Dhandu 3. During a staged altercation between the smuggler Han Solo and the pirate Hondo Ohnaka, Ohnaka pushed Solo into a table, causing it to collapse and send a plate of glowblue noodles and chav tea flying onto Trunc Adurmush, a Pakiphantos, and his gang.
As a young Artiodac chef, Strono Tuggs found inspiration in Gormaanda's old holovids, leading him to pursue cooking. He particularly enjoyed her glowblue noodles, considering them a staple recipe. In 34 ABY, he released his first cookbook, The Official Black Spire Outpost Cookbook, which featured his idol's recipe under the name Gormaanda's Glowblue Noodles. He recommended toppings such as white sauce, yellow- and orange-colored wedges, and an optional garnish of Golden Lichen Tuile, a savory cookie of his own creation.

Glowblue noodles were initially introduced to the new Star Wars canon in the junior novel Pirate's Price, authored by Lou Anders and released on January 8, 2019. On November 5 of that same year, they were first depicted in the recipe book Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge: The Official Black Spire Outpost Cookbook, penned by Marc Sumerak and Chelsea Monroe-Cassel. The out-of-universe recipe calls for water, blue butterfly pea tea bags, salt, and rice noodles as ingredients to achieve the blue noodle color. The cheese sauce is made using unsalted butter, minced garlic, salt, pepper, heavy cream, and grated Parmesan cheese. Mozzarella pearls and cherry tomatoes are used as toppings, and the cookbook's Golden Lichen Tuile recipe is an optional garnish.
Monroe-Cassel later clarified that a parmesan crisp, rather than the Golden Lichen Tuile garnish specified in the recipe, should have been used, with instructions available in the Xizor Salad recipe. In an interview, Monroe-Cassel expressed that the glowblue noodles recipe was among her favorites from the collection. She admitted that she would not have liked the dish as a child due to her picky eating habits, but now, as an adult, she appreciates the idea of consuming blue-colored food.
Within the Star Wars Legends continuity, the meal Glowblue Noodles and Chav was presented in HoloNet News Vol. 531 #50, an in-universe edition of the HoloNet News. Pablo Hidalgo wrote it, Joe Corroney illustrated it, and it was published on the HoloNet News website on April 4, 2002. Writer Melissa T. Miller highlighted the rarity of naturally blue edible items in the real world, contrasting it with the Star Wars universe's commonplace existence of glowblue noodles and other blue food items, in her article "Got Blue Milk?," featured in the 227th issue of Star Wars Insider magazine on August 27, 2024. Miller questioned whether glowblue noodles derive their color from an added ingredient or if it is their natural hue.
