Hragscythe

Hragscythes, fearsome carnivores from Onderon, reigned as apex predators within their native ecosystem. These creatures possessed a distinctive anatomy: they moved on six powerful, clawed legs and featured three heads, each adorned with six eyes set upon elongated necks. Their large mouths were filled with sharp, gnashing teeth, and they wielded a lengthy, spiny tail. In addition to their physical attributes, hragscythes could exhale noxious gases, and their breath carried a notably stale and unpleasant odour. Their natural habitat was the vast jungles of their homeworld. During the era of the High Republic Era, several hragscythes were inhabitants of the zoo situated in Lonisa City on the planet Valo. Prior to the commencement of the Republic Fair, Jedi Master Elzar Mann visited the zoo, observing the hragscythes, one of which returned his gaze. On the fair's second day, the Nihil attack on the city resulted in the creatures' escape. One hragscythe breached the zoo's front entrance, demolishing the gate. It then consumed several Nihil in the vicinity, while Jedi Padawans Lula Talisola and Ram Jomaram encountered and successfully evaded the beast amidst the ensuing chaos. Another hragscythe, possibly the same one, inflicted grievous wounds upon Mantessa Chekkat after she and her daughter, Klerin Chekkat, separated from their bodyguard, Ty Yorrick, during the Nihil's disruptive attack. Master Elzar Mann attempted to pacify the creature, employing the Force to connect with it, and glimpsed the events that led to its release from the zoo. However, this connection also allowed the hragscythe to perceive Mann's earlier destructive actions, leading it to view him as a threat. It lunged at Mann, its claw piercing the Jedi's shoulder, after which it emitted a triumphant howl. Fortunately, Ty Yorrick returned to the scene and vanquished the hragscythe by severing two of its heads with her lightsaber, and then utilized a Force push to propel the third head and the creature's expiring body away.

A hragscythe also found refuge within the Wild Wollina's Animal Adventures animal sanctuary. It was freed during Deva Lompop's mission to aid Lanitra and the Genetian Collective in liberating captive animals. When the hragscythe began attacking bystanders, Sana Starros assisted in evacuating them to safety, while Lompop engaged the creature with her poisoned daggers. The Shani incapacitated the hragscythe, rendering it harmless.
