Mosey Cimmaron was a human living on the planet of Koboh during the time of the Imperial Era. From her early years, she demonstrated great skill as a tracker and hunter, often facing perilous creatures both on solo expeditions and alongside her family.
By the year 9 BBY, she had journeyed to the remote world of Koboh, eventually managing the stables at Rambler's Reach Outpost. There, she tended to various animals and Nekko companions, notably Leo. Throughout her time on Koboh, Cimmaron frequently crossed paths with the Bedlam Raiders and even eliminated a Raider chief known for cruelly targeting boglings for amusement.
In 9 BBY, she encountered Jedi Knight Cal Kestis and quickly grew fond of him, admiring his character and skills. When he embarked on a quest to locate the hidden planet Tanalorr, Cimmaron supported Kestis by providing insights into the Raiders and the local creatures of Koboh. Furthermore, she helped maintain security at Pyloon's Saloon during Kestis's absences.
With the Raiders' threat lessened and the Galactic Empire's presence growing on Koboh, Cimmaron felt a growing wanderlust and decided to leave Koboh in search of new opportunities.
Growing up within a large family, Mosey Cimmaron frequently found herself competing with her siblings for attention, praise, and even food.
Prior to 9 BBY, during a family excursion, she tracked a Kivaroa back to its dwelling. This creature had been preying on the family's livestock, leading to the decision to eliminate it. Spotting an opportunity during her pursuit, Cimmaron, aware of her family's observation, began to show off. However, the Kivaroa nearly caused her serious harm when, realizing it was being hunted, it slammed one of its legs down close to her, almost breaking her back. Her mother intervened and swiftly killed the Kivaroa without any unnecessary theatrics. This event taught Cimmaron that when cornered, any creature will do whatever it takes to survive, and one should never underestimate their prey, even when holding the advantage.
On one occasion, a wild caniphant destroyed the Cimmaron family's barn. Given that caniphants are adept at concealing their tracks, Mosey proposed reversing the vaporators to saturate the air with moisture, thereby amplifying the creature's distinct scent. This strategy proved successful, enabling the family to eliminate the animal before it could inflict further damage.
During a hunt on Farana alongside her sister, she encountered a creature resembling a Gorocco. Separately, she faced a dangerous situation involving an aggressive tentacled being, where she cleverly used her skills to turn the creature's own tentacle against it, strangling it.
While hiking in the mountains with her older brother, they encountered a tibidee. Maintaining a safe distance, the tibidee suddenly seized her brother in its claws and flew towards its nest. Cimmaron quickly ascended the cliffside, and despite not wanting to harm the tibidee, she knew she had to rescue her brother. Seizing her only chance, she hurled her spear, piercing the creature and killing it, thereby saving her brother's life.
Her mother was known to be particularly critical, often pointing out her mistakes and critiquing her techniques. Cimmaron eventually grew resentful of this treatment, which became a major factor in her decision to leave her family and travel to Koboh.
After settling on Koboh, Cimmaron took charge of the stables at Rambler's Reach Outpost, providing a sanctuary for local nekkos and boglings. Shortly after her arrival, the Bedlam Raiders appeared. She attributed the altered behavior of the native wildlife, particularly the shiverpedes, to the Raiders' disruptive presence, claiming they became more hostile to the locals. On at least one instance, Cimmaron killed a Bedlam Raider chief for his cruel sport of shooting boglings. She quickly developed an appreciation for Koboh, believing that the frontier offered individuals the chance to reinvent themselves.
In 9 BBY, she was the first to greet Cal Kestis upon witnessing the Stinger Mantis's crash in Dredger Gorge. She cautioned Kestis about the Bedlam Raiders in the area and advised him to introduce himself to Doma Dendra upon entering the Outpost.
As a frequent visitor to Pyloon's Saloon, she interacted with the locals, notably Turgle, and remained informed about events across the planet. Her encounters with the Raiders taught her to avoid the group and its leader, Rayvis, and she later heard rumors that Dagan Gera had taken over leadership.
In conversations with Kestis, she shared information regarding the locations of large beasts and predators on Koboh, as well as strategies for defending against their attacks. She would also entertain him with stories of her past encounters with creatures.
Following Kestis's success in removing the Raiders' threat from the Outpost and the arrival of an Imperial-class Star Destroyer over Koboh, she decided it was time to leave the planet, feeling a sense of restlessness. Before departing, she warned Turgle to stay out of Imperial affairs and avoid causing further trouble. She then bid farewell to Kestis, expressing her uncertainty about her destination but hoping their paths would cross again.
As a skilled tracker and hunter, Mosey possessed a sharp hunter's instinct. She quickly recognized Kestis's skill as a warrior, and told him that his friendly demeanor didn't fool her one bit. She had also been trained by her mother to use her sense of smell and all five senses while hunting.
When hunting large creatures, Cimmaron knew it was best to bring at least one or two partners to increase their chances of success. She lived by the saying that a single branch from a Greel tree could be easily broken, but a bundle of branches was much stronger. She also understood when to engage in a fight and when to retreat, believing that seeking revenge only leads to more revenge.
Cimmaron mentioned that she enjoyed the atmosphere of a crowded cantina after spending time in the wilderness, and she was pleased to see Pyloon's grow in popularity.
Cimmaron formed a friendship with Cal Kestis after he arrived on Koboh, respecting his abilities and his commitment to protecting others. She also developed a connection with Merrin after the nightsister complimented her axe, and they shared a common goal of stopping the Raiders. While at Pyloon's, Cimmaron spent time with Turgle, often calming his excitable nature and gently tempering his ambitious ideas.
She had a fondness for the wildlife of Koboh, especially the native nekko, and particularly those she named Leo and Brutus.
