Quantxi, sometimes referred to as the Junk Moon of Ord Mantell, was one of at least three satellites in orbit around the planet of Ord Mantell, situated within the Mid Rim territories. This terrestrial body was characterized by its extensive covering of refuse and discarded materials.
The moon Quantxi, a terrestrial satellite, exhibited a red hue when observed from space. A massive junkyard completely covered its surface. As one of at least three moons in orbit around Ord Mantell, a planet found in the Bright Jewel system, which in turn resided within the Bright Jewel sector of the Mid Rim, Quantxi was a notable celestial body.
During the period known as the High Republic Era, Marchion Ro, known as the Eye of the Nihil, transported a portion of his forces to Quantxi. This was part of a scheme to draw Jedi and forces of the Galactic Republic into an elaborate trap situated within the system. He encountered members of the Junk Mavens who opposed his presence on the moon due to the potential for conflict. When a Maven attempted to reach the comm tower, Ro dispatched Krix Kamerat to intercept her, aiming to test the boy's loyalty. Despite Kamerat's efforts, the Maven successfully transmitted a distress signal, which was intercepted by a starfighter squadron commanded by Grand Master Yoda. This squadron had recently engaged in a battle in the Bright Jewel system against a pirate force deployed by Ro as a diversion.
Following its theft and subsequent destruction, the wreckage of the Imperialis, the personal yacht of Emperor Palpatine, was discovered on Quantxi. Accompanying the Imperialis' remains were several excavator droids, which had been dispatched along with the vessel to the desert planet of Jakku approximately three years before the onset of the Clone Wars.
After the death of the Emperor during the Battle of Endor, Imperial Grand Admiral Rae Sloane embarked on a quest to uncover information regarding the enigmatic background of Imperial Fleet Admiral Gallius Rax. Unbeknownst to her, Rax was a native of Jakku who had secretly boarded the Imperialis as a young boy and directly interacted with Palpatine. Sloane secretly traveled to Coruscant, the Imperial capital, and sought information about Rax from Grand Vizier Mas Amedda, who revealed the locations of both the droids and the ship. The grand admiral then dispatched Mercurial Swift, a bounty hunter, to Quantxi. There, Swift employed a slicer to examine the droids and determine Rax's [homeworld](/article/homeworld]: Jakku.
