Razoo Qin-Fee

A male human from the planet Nar Kanji, named Razoo Qin-Fee, held the rank of lieutenant within the Kanjiklub criminal organization approximately three decades following the Battle of Endor. Possessing both pyromaniacal tendencies and technological expertise, his responsibilities included the assembly and upkeep of Kanjiklub's diverse collection of weaponry and armor. Qin-Fee's expulsion from the underworld Zygerrian fighting circuit stemmed from his involvement in cheating. In combat, he wielded a "Wasp" blaster rifle.

Aboard the Eravana, a Baleen-class heavy freighter, he, along with fellow gang members and the Guavian Death Gang, confronted Han Solo, a smuggler, regarding a debt exceeding fifty thousand credits. The two criminal factions discovered that Solo was also transporting BB-8, an astromech droid, and a pair of First Order fugitives on the freighter, initiating a search. Their efforts to kill Solo were thwarted when three rathtars, cargo inadvertently released by Solo, launched an assault on both groups.

Despite his inclination towards conflict, Qin-Fee recognized the overwhelming threat posed by the rathtars and chose to flee, ultimately succumbing to their voracious appetites. Amidst the chaos created by the rathtars, Solo and the fugitives successfully escaped the Eravana.

Biography

Originating from the planet Nar Kanji, Razoo Qin-Fee faced a ban from the underworld Zygerrian fighting circuit due to acts of cheating, even in the absence of formal rules. He integrated himself into the Kanjiklub criminal syndicate operating out of Nar Kanji, eventually attaining the position of lieutenant and second-in-command to Tasu Leech, the gang's topboss, by thirty years after the Battle of Endor. Qin-Fee's duties encompassed the maintenance of the gang's diverse arsenal of weapons and armor, with frequent modifications tailored to the specifications of his fellow gang members.

Following the Kanjiklub gang's victory over the Guavian Death Gang during the skirmish in the Cronese Mandate, Qin-Fee acquired the Smuggler's Guide previously in the possession of Bala-Tik. He added an entry claiming that the train of freighters containing their stolen goods stretched back to Foran Tutha. Later in the book, he recounted a battle at the Chasidron Shoals where they "knocked their challengers stupid" and threatened Black Sun, Crymorah Syndicate, and Crimson Dawn, asserting that the Hutts were "spiraling into a crash" and that Kanjiklub would ensure their demise. Tasu Leech instructed Kanjiklub to strike a deal with weapon manufacturers and depart for Cantonica the next morning, a decision Qin-Fee documented. However, the Master Codebreaker stole the Smuggler's Guide from the Kanjiklub chief during negotiations for control of Rim territories.

After the Kanjiklub provided Han Solo and Chewbacca, smugglers, with fifty thousand credits to capture rathtars for King Prana, Qin-Fee joined Leech and other gang members to reclaim the loan from Solo. They boarded Solo's Baleen-class heavy freighter Eravana above the planet Jakku, finding Solo in the ship's airlock in a dispute with the Guavian Death Gang, another criminal group he owed money to. Leech and Bala-Tik, the Death Gang's leader, demanded repayment but then noticed BB-8, an astromech droid matching the description of a droid sought by the First Order, along with two fugitives. Suspecting the fugitives were also present, Qin-Fee stepped forward as another Kanjiklub member began searching the airlock with an illuminator.

Qin-Fee and the rest of Kanjiklub confronted Solo onboard the Eravana.

While the criminals conducted their search, Solo tried to buy time by claiming the droid was his and not the one they sought. Bala-Tik saw through the deception and demanded that Solo surrender BB-8 and the fugitives. Qin-Fee suggested killing Solo instead, eliciting laughter from other criminals. Suddenly, the airlock corridor's lights flickered, accompanied by unsettling sounds. Unsure of what was happening, the Death Gang and Kanjiklub prepared to eliminate Solo and Chewbacca and seize the droid. However, they were interrupted when the rathtars, accidentally released by Rey, a scavenger, and Finn, a former stormtrooper, attacked both criminal groups from behind. These were the fugitives they were searching for.

Qin-Fee fled from the rathtar down the corridor, pausing when he saw two Guavians running in the opposite direction. He called for another Kanjiklub member to join him but decided to follow the Guavians after the gang member was seized by a rathtar. He then met two more Kanjiklub members and briefly spoke with them, deciding to avoid both ends of the airlock and head down a third corridor. His comrades were then devoured by another rathtar, forcing Qin-Fee to flee alone away from the Kanjiklub's starship, hoping to circle back and avoid the rathtars. Unfortunately, this strategy failed, and Qin-Fee was devoured by the rathtars along with his comrades. Solo, Chewbacca, and the fugitives escaped the Eravana aboard the Millennium Falcon, a YT-1300 light freighter, killing one of the three rathtars on the heavy freighter as they departed.

Personality and traits

Qin-Fee was a disagreeable male human with a penchant for pyrotechnics and a talent for technology, earning him a fearsome reputation in the underworld Zygerrian fighting circuit. As Tasu Leech's second-in-command, Qin-Fee aspired to become Kanjiklub's leader, understanding that he needed to cultivate alliances to avoid being overthrown by other gang members.

While escaping the rathtars on the Eravana, he was terrified for his life, finding comfort only in the likelihood of Solo's demise. He styled his black hair in a faux Zygerrian crest and possessed brown eyes and tanned skin.

Equipment

On the Eravana, Qin-Fee wore patchwork armor, including a bandolier of homemade explosive cylinders and insulated palm sparring gloves. He carried a "Wasp" blaster rifle for combat and an illuminator.

Behind the scenes

Iko Uwais played Razoo Qin-Fee in Star Wars: Episode VII The Force Awakens, where the credits list him as "Razoo Quin-Fee." He had no spoken lines in the film but was given dialogue in its novelization by Alan Dean Foster, also briefly serving as a point of view character. While there are inconsistencies between the amount of dialogue in the novel and the film, this article considers Qin-Fee's line canonical because it occurs at a point in the novel that does not contradict the film's timeline.
