Serrena was a Kage of the female persuasion, and a member of the Path of the Open Hand cult during the High Republic Era. Furthermore, she belonged to a smaller group within the cult known as the Children, who were devoted to one of the Path's leaders, The Mother. In the year 382 BBY, the Mother instructed her to place a program chip into a starfighter intended for use by E'ronoh's Princeess Xiri A'lbaran. This chip would seize control of the ship, causing it to fire randomly and then explode, with the goal of prolonging the Eiram and E'ronoh War. However, Bly Tevin ended up using the starfighter instead, which still resulted in a skirmish with Eiram.
Serrena, along with her partner Abda, another Kage and Path member, operated from an abandoned structure located in the Brushlands of E'ronoh. Despite her initial failure, Serrena later came across an EX droid carrying a message from two Jedi Masters, and she promptly informed the Mother about the Jedi's arrival in the system.
Subsequently, Serrena confronted Queen Adrialla of Eiram aboard the Galactic Republic Longbeam cruiser Paxion, during a peace summit intended to bring the war to an end. She confronted the Queen regarding her violation of her agreement with the Mother to manufacture poison for them. Adrialla refused to resume production, leading Odelia, Adrialla's wife, to shoot Serrena with a blaster. Serrena managed to escape in an escape pod and made her way back to Abda. Abda, angered by Serrena's failure and feeling empowered by the Mother's choice of her as one of her Children, secretly applied the same poison to Serrena's blaster wound while tending to it, resulting in her death.
