During the time known as the Age of the Empire, a criminal syndicate was under the command of Surat Nuat, a crime lord from Sullustan. This gang operated out of the Alcazar, which was located in Myrra, the main city and capital of the planet Akiva. This organization worked in conjunction with the Galactic Empire. The Koorivar Makarial Gravin, the Ithorian Herf, the Abednedo Toomata Wree, and the Herglic Gor-kooda are some examples of individuals who were known to be members of this group. After the Battle of Endor, Temmin Wexley, who worked as a junk dealer, found himself at odds with Surat Nuat's gang. After the Rebellion on Akiva, the New Republic began aggressively pursuing Surat Nuat's gang, as well as other organized crime groups present on the planet. While many members of the gang were either killed or apprehended by the new governing body, Surat Nuat managed to escape the planet.
