The Alcazar, also known as Alkazar, functioned as the headquarters for Surat Nuat's gang by 4 ABY. This Sullustan crime lord's base was a cantina situated in Myrra, the capital city of the planet Akiva. Within its walls, he held captive several adversaries, including Temmin Wexley, Sinjir Rath Velus, and Jas Emari. The Alcazar sustained damage when these three prisoners successfully broke free, aided by Mister Bones, a modified B1-series battle droid.
A popular spot among the locals, the Alcazar was a cantina in Akiva's capital, Myrra. A raised platform provided space for musical performances, while a lengthy black bar, crafted from varnished driftwood, served patrons. The bar's limited drink selection included ale, grog, and Starfire 'skee.
The Alcazar also functioned as a gambling establishment, hosting games like pazaak, Kessel Wheel, and rolling sheg-knuckles. It also offered other diversions, such as the One-Armed Smuggler game.
Besides the main entrance, the cantina had a secondary exit known locally as the 'shame door'. This door was used by patrons who had overindulged in starfire 'skee, those leaving with a new companion, or individuals ejected by Surat Nuat's enforcers. Nuat utilized this side entrance to avoid deterring potential customers from spending their credits. He ensured the door remained locked and guarded.
Upon his initial assessment of the cantina, Sinjir Rath Velus, a former Imperial Loyalty officer, concluded that it likely served as both a slaver market and a black market compound.
Beneath the cantina lay Nuat's operational base and prison complex on the planet.
Nuat's office featured red walls adorned with manacles. His desk was uniquely fashioned from the carbonite-encased body of his brother, Rutar, whom he had frozen. The crime lord kept the space sparsely furnished, with only a blaster, a collection of quills in a cup, a bottle of ink, and a tall black cabinet secured with a maglock.
Nuat imprisoned his captives in small, rusted iron cages suspended over a deep, dark, and damp chasm by thick, heavy chains. The dungeon contained seven such cages.
In 4 ABY, Sinjir Rath Velus, accompanied by the Twi'lek Orgadomo Dokura, entered the Alcazar to arrange a meeting with Surat Nuat for negotiating safe passage off-world. He spent ten credits for their drinks and then paid the bartender one hundred credits for information on how to meet Nuat. Shortly after this payment, Nuat arrived, surrounded by guards. In his custody was Jas Emari, a Zabrak bounty hunter he intended to sell to the Empire. Rath Velus recognized Emari from an encounter during the Battle of Endor and, posing as an Imperial, offered to purchase her from Nuat. After Nuat revealed that he had not yet informed the Empire about Emari's capture, he ordered his guards to kill the former Imperial officer. During the ensuing chaos, Dokura was killed, and Rath Velus was knocked unconscious by the bartender. Nuat's thugs subsequently imprisoned him in one of the dungeon's cages, alongside Emari.
That same evening, Temmin Wexley was brought to Nuat's office beneath the cantina, having been identified as the thief of a weapon belonging to the crime lord. After Wexley begged for his freedom, Nuat's Herglic enforcer, Gor-kooda, took the boy to the cistern, where Nuat planned to remove his tongue.
After Emari broke free from her cage, she liberated Rath Velus, and the two sought to escape the complex. However, Rath Velus decided to rescue Wexley, believing the boy could be valuable for repairs. They overpowered Gor-kooda, who was holding Wexley, and made their way to the bar area, where they were quickly spotted by an Ithorian guard. A brief blaster fight followed, after which the trio managed to escape through the damaged side door and flee the cantina.
