Thanium sector

The Thanium Worlds were a historically significant area within the Outer Rim Territories, situated to the west of the Tion Cluster. This region later evolved into a sector, also known as the Thanium sector. Noteworthy historical planets within the Thanium Worlds included Thanium, Ranroon, and Yutusk.

History

The Thanium sector and its surrounding sectors

In its early days, the Thanium Worlds existed as a distinct region, separate from both the Tion Cluster and the Old Republic. Its geographical size was roughly equivalent to that of the later Thanium sector.

Between 25,126 BBY and 25,116 BBY, Xim the Despot conquered the Thanium Worlds. He expanded the region considerably, transforming it into the primary industrial base for his empire. At its peak, it stretched from the Tion Cluster to the borders of the Radama Void, encompassing parts of the Gordian Reach and what would become the Sith Worlds.

Following Xim's death, his empire collapsed, and the Thanium Worlds regained their independence. Unlike other successor states that emerged from Xim's fallen empire, the Thanium Worlds distanced themselves from the Tion Cluster's history. The Rimward sections of the Thanium Worlds during Xim's reign, known as the Far Indrexu, were absorbed into the Indrexu Confederation.

Although the name Thanium Worlds persisted as the name of a modern sector, the passage of millennia had drastically reshaped these planets, leaving little evidence of Xim's dominion.
