Xagobah, situated within the Outer Rim Territories, was a celestial body and the original homeworld of Neva Kee, a Xamster. During the era of the Galactic Civil War, it served as a producer of wartime supplies for the Galactic Empire. As part of Operation Ringbreaker in 3 ABY, the Rebel Alliance's 61st Mobile Infantry engaged in combat against the Empire on this world. Later, in 5 ABY, forces of the New Republic under the command of General Ria initiated a military campaign against an Imperial-Royalist coalition at the astronomical object.
Xagobah was a celestial object that resided at the intersection of the Outer Rim Territories and the Western Reaches. A hyperspace route connected it to both the planet Pamarthe and the astronomical object Triton, which was situated along the Rimma Trade Route. Its location was specified as grid square M-18 within the Standard Galactic Grid. It was the original homeworld of the Xamster podracer Neva Kee, and it was known for its canyons with unpleasant odors.

During the Galactic Civil War, Xagobah served as a source of materials for the Galactic Empire's war machine. The Rebel Alliance's 61st Mobile Infantry set their sights on the astronomical object in 3 ABY, three weeks into Operation Ringbreaker. This operation, conceived by former Imperial Governor Everi Chalis, aimed to strike at the Empire's Kuat Drive Yards. The purpose of the attack was to compel the Imperial Military to divert forces from Kuat Drive Yards, thereby weakening their defenses in anticipation of a final assault. A battle ensued in Xagobah's canyons between the Empire and the 61st, with the latter achieving its objective before proceeding onward. The Rebel Alliance Intelligence Service scrutinized the 61st's operation, and General Crix Madine included Xagobah in a report detailing the initial phase of Operation Ringbreaker. Later, archivist Hendri Underholt compiled this report into a collection of non-electronic documents known as The Rebel Files.
Following the Battle of Endor in 4 ABY, the Empire's forces fragmented, and the Alliance transitioned to become the New Republic. By 5 ABY, Imperial forces, in coalition with local royalists, still maintained control over Xagobah. Ria, a general in the New Republic, spearheaded a campaign with the goal of dislodging the coalition from Xagobah. During a meeting with other leading members of the New Republic military, the general discussed her efforts at the celestial body in the context of the broader Galactic Civil War. As the operation unfolded, the Xagobah campaign took what Ria perceived as an ominous turn. Subsequently, the general attended another meeting with the New Republic's military leadership, where she summarized the unsettling development while expressing confidence in the campaign's impending conclusion.

Xagobah made its debut in the current Star Wars canon through its mention in the 2015 novel Battlefront: Twilight Company, penned by Alexander Freed. It originated as a planet within the Star Wars Legends continuity, initially appearing in the 2000 reference book Inside the Worlds of Star Wars: Episode I by Kristin Lund. The first visual representation of Xagobah was on a 2001 map of the Star Wars galaxy, crafted by James King and Laurence Butler and included with the first issue of The Official Star Wars Fact File magazine. Xagobah's inaugural full appearance in Legends occurred in the 2004 novel Boba Fett: A New Threat, the fifth installment in the Boba Fett series for young readers, authored by Elizabeth Hand.
