Barratk'l, a female Yuzzem who achieved the rank of Jedi Master, served within the New Jedi Order. She also held a position on the Jedi High Council in 44 ABY.

While stationed on Nal Hutta, Barratk'l received a summons back to Coruscant with an invitation to join the Jedi High Council. This invitation came after acting Grand Master Kenth Hamner nominated her. She accepted the position and attended a Council session soon after Galactic Alliance Chief of State Natasi Daala declined to release Jedi Knights Valin and Jysella Horn from their carbonite imprisonment. This refusal occurred even after the Force psychosis affecting several Jedi seemingly ended with the death of Abeloth at the hands of exiled Grand Master Luke Skywalker. Barratk'l, along with Cilghal, Kam Solusar, and Tionne Solusar, sided with Hamner when he advocated for the Jedi to minimize conflict with the Galactic Alliance's forces. The meeting faced an interruption when Jedi Knight Leia Organa Solo and her husband Han Solo alerted the Council to a force of Mandalorians dispatched to suppress a slave protest on Blaudu Sextus.
Following Master Saba Sebatyne's explanation of the relationship between the Octusi and their masters, Barratk'l challenged Hamner after he questioned how the semi-sentient Octusi could understand their lack of freedom. She questioned whether he believed slavery was acceptable if the enslaved were unable to recognize their condition. Hamner retorted that she should know better, pointing to an Octusi in a hologram of the protest holding a sign with chains, despite the fact that the Octusi had never been enslaved with chains. Barratk'l and the other Council members considered the implications, and Hamner suggested that the anti-slavery organization Freedom Flight might be involved. Barratk'l defended the organization, denying suspicions from other Council members that she was aiding Freedom Flight. She appreciated Hamner's defense when he expressed doubt about her involvement. Barratk'l and the Council then decided to dispatch Jedi Knights Sothais Saar and Avinoam Arelis to Blaudu Sextus. Their mission was to quell the revolt and identify the instigator before the Mandalorians could violently suppress it, aiming to prevent a massacre and facilitate a peaceful resolution between the Octusi and their masters.
Shortly after, Barratk'l attended another Council meeting where Jedi Knight Jaina Solo and Lando Calrissian arrived on Coruscant to brief them on her mission in the Maw, assisting Grand Master Skywalker, Jedi Knight Ben Skywalker, and their Sith "allies". When Jedi Solo reported that she and Calrissian were attacked by Sith pirates on their return to Coruscant, Barratk'l feared that the Skywalkers had been betrayed and killed, but Jedi Solo assured her that they were still alive. She then presented information gathered by Jedi Knight Jaden Korr regarding a series of pirate attacks and missing ships, some of which had been in Sith possession. Jedi Master Corran Horn analyzed the map and data, informing Barratk'l and the Council that the Sith had amassed a significant war fleet.
As the Council gathered on Pinnacle Platform to welcome back the Jedi Knights who had been afflicted by the Force psychosis and sent to Shedu Maad, the situation on Blaudu Sextus took a turn for the worse, interrupting their welcome. They convened around a datapad to witness Mandalorian commander Belok Rhal and his forces carrying out a massacre on the planet, which included the death of reporter Madhi Vaandt, who had been covering the events. Jedi Saar and Arelis intervened to halt the massacre and apprehend the Mandalorians, defying their orders to simply end the revolt. Barratk'l and the other masters, except for Hamner, concluded that the Force had altered the Jedi's mission, and they should support a galaxy-wide slave rebellion. Hamner argued that this was an imprudent decision that would lead Daala to believe the Jedi had betrayed the Galactic Alliance. However, Han Solo revealed Hamner's agreement with Admiral Nek Bwua'tu to prevent Daala from attacking and the Jedi from deploying their StealthX wing to aid Grand Master Skywalker until the situation between the Order and Daala could be resolved. Barratk'l and the Council, angered by Hamner's concealment, relieved him of his position as acting Grand Master and his seat on the Council.
As the Council prepared to deploy the StealthX wing to support Grand Master Skywalker, Barratk'l was among the four Council members leading the wing. Additionally, she would be taking five other Jedi to rendezvous with Jedi Saar and Arelis to assist in the numerous slave revolts occurring across the galaxy. Before their departure, Master Hamner confronted them, demanding they cease their actions, deeming them treason. They informed Hamner that he no longer held authority and had lost their trust due to his secret deal with Bwua'tu. Hamner insisted they obey him because Grand Master Skywalker had appointed him as acting Grand Master, but Barratk'l pointed out that he was the only one Daala would agree to, questioning if he had considered why. Hamner countered that he had expected more from her and that she placed little value on loyalty. She responded that her loyalty was to the Order, not him, and instructed the other Masters to begin preparing for launch immediately, before they missed their opportunity. Barratk'l and the other Masters then proceeded toward their ships as Master Sebatyne and Hamner began to duel. They successfully launched, but Sebatyne was compelled to kill Hamner to prevent him from sabotaging the hangar controls.
Master Barratk'l joined Jedi Knights Sothais Saar and Avinoam Arelis, along with five other Jedi Knights. For a month, they dedicated themselves to assisting those enslaved, until the call came for everyone to prepare and gather. Her team returned home and collaborated with Jedi and the Galactic Alliance to liberate Coruscant from the Sith.
In 44 ABY, the Jedi Order withdrew from the Galactic Federation of Free Alliances and relocated their base of operations to the mining world of Shedu Maad, situated in the Transitory Mists that separate the Galactic Alliance from the Hapes Consortium.
She was present at the Wedding of Jagged Fel and Jaina Solo.
