Dokk Strassi

Dokk Strassi, a Trandoshan male, held the position of leader for the Strassi family on the planet of Tatooine, operating as a subordinate within Jabba the Hutt's expansive criminal empire. Following Jabba's death, the Trandoshan clan assumed responsibility for safeguarding the central urban area and commercial sectors of Mos Espa. Subsequently, Boba Fett, a bounty hunter previously in Strassi's employ, ascended to the throne, inheriting the late Jabba's empire as the new Daimyo in 9 ABY; consequently, Strassi journeyed to the palace to offer his respects.

As the Pyke Syndicate posed a threat to Fett's authority, the Daimyo convened a meeting with Strassi and the two other family heads of Mos Espa, proposing a united front against the Pykes. Strassi chose to align himself with the don of the Klatooinian family, who expressed a desire to remain uninvolved in Fett's conflict. In response, the Daimyo pledged to eradicate the Pyke Syndicate and requested that the families maintain neutrality throughout the impending war. Strassi, along with the other leaders, acquiesced to Fett's stipulations.

Despite this agreement, Strassi and the other dons were secretly allied with the Pyke Syndicate, aiding their efforts to oust Fett from Mos Espa. While Trandoshan family soldiers participated in the battle, Strassi sought refuge at the Pykes' headquarters situated at the Mos Eisley spaceport on Tatooine, accompanied by the other two family leaders and Mayor Mok Shaiz of Mos Espa. With Fett successfully driving the Pykes out of the city, the Pyke boss on Tatooine made the decision to withdraw his forces from the planet, a move that displeased Strassi and the other leaders. However, their meeting was abruptly interrupted by Fett's assassin, Fennec Shand, who proceeded to kill everyone present in the headquarters.

Biography

Power struggle

Trandoshan Dokk Strassi functioned as a crime boss, heading the Strassi family on the desert planet Tatooine, operating as a component of Jabba the Hutt's crime empire. This crime boss served as one of Jabba's captains, accumulating substantial wealth in his role. Notably, the renowned bounty hunter Boba Fett, a former employee of Jabba, was at one point under Strassi's command.

In 4 ABY, Jabba met his death during a failed execution, leading Bib Fortuna, the Hutt's majordomo, to declare himself the heir to Jabba's throne. Consequently, Strassi swiftly separated his family from Jabba's criminal enterprise, a move mirrored by both the Aqualish family and the Klatooinian family. Furthermore, the city of Mos Espa underwent a division among the three families, with the Trandoshans assuming control over the city centre and its business districts. Fortuna relied on a shaky alliance with these families to maintain dominion over his territories, while Strassi and the other family heads persistently attempted to seize the throne, only to be consistently thwarted.

Dokk Strassi brings a Wookiee pelt to Boba Fett

In 9 ABY, Fett, having retired from his career as a bounty hunter, assassinated Fortuna and assumed his position as the new Daimyo on the throne. As Fett initiated his new criminal empire from the remnants of Jabba's, the Trandoshan journeyed to Boba's palace alongside other influential figures within the empire to pay homage to the new Daimyo. Upon entering Boba's throne room, Strassi was introduced by the 8D-series smelter droid 8D8 and presented a Wookiee pelt, a species known for their animosity towards Trandoshans, as a gesture of goodwill. The Trandoshan offered his respects to Fett, who reciprocated with a compliment. Strassi then entrusted the fur coat to 8D8 and lavished further praise upon Fett before departing. The Daimyo remarked, in jest, that the Trandoshan's compliment carried a veiled threat.

Preparing for war

Concurrently, the Pyke Syndicate, which had already established spice trade operations on Tatooine, bribed Mok Shaiz, the mayor of Mos Espa, into promising Mos Espa to them. With his authority challenged, Fett convened a dinner meeting at his palace with the leaders of the three dominant families of Mos Espa, with Strassi accompanied by several associates. During the gathering, Fennec Shand, Fett's master assassin, recounted the past power struggles involving Bib Fortuna and assured the family leaders that they could flourish once more under the Daimyo's rule. Fett initiated his address by promising to neither demand tribute nor a percentage from the families, nor offer any assistance in return. After the Daimyo asserted that the Pyke Syndicate's activities were depleting Tatooine's wealth, Strassi countered that the families were benefiting financially from the spice trade.

Fett proposed an alliance with the families against the Pykes

As the don of the Klatooinian family questioned Fett's claim to the throne, Fett's rancor disrupted the meeting from below, prompting Strassi and the other attendees to rise from their seats abruptly. After calming his beast, the Daimyo invited his guests to be seated again and proposed an alliance against the Pykes. The Klatooinian don expressed skepticism about joining a conflict that had not yet involved the families, a sentiment echoed by Strassi. Consequently, the Daimyo pledged to eliminate the Pyke Syndicate independently, requesting only that the families maintain neutrality throughout the process. Strassi, in consultation with one of his associates, agreed to Fett's revised terms, as did the Aqualish leader Garfalaquox and the Klatooinian don. With the families in accord, they raised a toast at the dinner table. The guests eventually returned to their speeders and departed from the palace grounds.

Fateful deal

Strassi's arrangement with Fett proved short-lived, as he and the other two family leaders harbored a clandestine agreement with the Pyke Syndicate, mandating that Tatooine remain conducive to the syndicate's business operations. While the leaders convened at the Pykes' headquarters on Tatooine, the Desert Survey Office at the Mos Eisley spaceport, the forces under the command of the Mos Espa families and the Pykes prepared to usurp Fett's authority over the city. As part of the attack, the families initiated the offensive, with Strassi's soldiers targeting Fett's Wookiee enforcer Krrsantan as he stood guard in the city center. However, the Wookiee managed to evade defeat from his Trandoshan assailants, eliminating several in the process. Furthermore, Fett and his allies successfully drove the Pyke forces out of the city, inflicting substantial casualties during the battle.

Strassi was shot dead by Fennec Shand

Back at the Desert Survey Office, Strassi and the other family dons were present alongside Mok Shaiz and the Pyke Syndicate's boss on Tatooine. The Pyke boss informed the others that his forces were retreating to Mos Eisley in preparation for their departure from the planet. The leaders expressed their displeasure, with Strassi—who was armed with an SE-14r light repeating blaster—insisting that they and the Pykes had a binding agreement. However, the boss countered that Tatooine was no longer hospitable for his syndicate. As the argument escalated, the group heard gunshots emanating from outside. Strassi, the boss, and the family leaders raised their blasters in anticipation when Shand, firing from above, swiftly eliminated the three dons of Mos Espa. The assassin then proceeded to kill Shaiz and the Pykes before departing.

Personality and traits

Benefiting from spice trade, Strassi chose to side with the Pyke Syndicate against Fett

Dokk Strassi, a Trandoshan male, exhibited light brown skin and possessed yellow eyes. Upon greeting the newly appointed Daimyo, Boba Fett, he offered a respectful bow and extended a compliment. Strassi displayed reluctance to align himself with Fett against the Pyke Syndicate, recognizing the potential for profit in the Syndicate's spice exports and feigning adherence to the Daimyo's terms of neutrality. Driven by self-interest, he promptly betrayed Fett and forged an alliance with the Pykes to overthrow the Daimyo, expressing discontent when the Syndicate's boss on Tatooine opted to withdraw his forces from the planet.

Equipment

Strassi donned blue, red, and black clothing complemented by a necklace. He utilized a speeder for transportation when attending a meeting with Fett and the other family leaders of Mos Espa. Furthermore, the Trandoshan wielded an SE-14r light repeating blaster.
