SE-14r light repeating blaster

The SE-14r light repeating blaster, also known by designations such as the SE-14r blaster pistol, the SE-14r blaster rifle, or just the SE-14 pistol, was a light repeating blaster produced by BlasTech Industries.

Description

BlasTech Industries manufactured the SE-14r light repeating blaster, a light repeating blaster model designed as a pistol. This weapon could be disassembled and equipped with a scope. Bearing a strong resemblance to the SE-14C blaster pistol, it saw use among members of the Galactic Empire, including Imperial Intelligence's death troopers, standard stormtroopers, and certain officers, though it was originally exclusive to Imperial officers. Lando Calrissian possessed two SE-14r blasters, one modified with a long barrel that functioned as a noise suppressor for distant targets, while another was repurposed into a prod pistol.

History

Imperial Era

During his career as a smuggler, Lando Calrissian owned two chromium-plated SE-14r blasters, distinguished by their Tibrin mother-of-pearl handles and detachable barrel extensions. He deployed one of these SE-14r blasters on missions to both Kullgroon and Kessel.

Imperial officer turned defector Tala Durith wielded an SE-14r.

In 9 BBY, Tala Durith, an Imperial officer secretly working as a defector to assist Force-sensitives seeking refuge via the Hidden Path, carried an SE-14r while stationed at the battery of Imperial forces on the mining planet Mapuzo. During the Battle on Mapuzo, Durith used her SE-14r to eliminate several stormtroopers under her command, facilitating the escape of Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi and Princess Leia Organa from capture.

In 5 BBY, a rogue Imperial lieutenant named Jovan possessed one of these pistols, employing it against ISB Agent Kallus during his attempt to evade Imperial justice. Shortly following the events of the War of the Bounty Hunters, Luke Skywalker, concealing his identity with a hood, attempted a mind trick on two stormtroopers stationed on the river moon of Al'doleem in pursuit of information about Imperial activities there. Both stormtroopers were equipped with SE-14rs. Still grappling with the trauma of losing his right hand in the duel on Cloud City, Skywalker's attempt at a mind trick, executed with his newly installed cybernetic hand, failed. The troopers, perceiving him as a disruptive civilian, aimed their SE-14rs at him, ordering him to leave. Maintaining his disguise, Skywalker complied and informed his astromech droid, R2-D2, that a revised strategy was necessary.

New Republic Era

A stormtrooper of Gideon's remnant points their SE-14r at Din Djarin

By 9 ABY, the SE-14r was in use by members of Moff Gideon's Imperial remnant, including both stormtroopers and Imperial officers. While operating undercover as a Juggernaut Pilot within the Morak Imperial remnants, Din Djarin employed an SE-14r to eliminate several pirates who were trying to destroy a stolen HCVw A9.2 juggernaut transport on Morak. The weapon either malfunctioned or depleted its charge shortly thereafter, leading Djarin to throw it ineffectively at an attacker and resort to hand-to-hand combat to defend himself against the remaining assailants.

Later, members of the Strassi family and the Aqualish crime family of Mos Espa were seen using SE-14rs. However, the showdown on Tatooine significantly reduced their forces, solidifying the Fett gotra's dominance as the leading crime syndicate on Tatooine. Several Imperial armored commandos also wielded SE-14rs, lacking scopes, while battling Din Djarin within the ray shields surrounding Gideon's command center.

Also in 9 ABY, the KX-series security droid K-A0S participated in the Hunters of the Outer Rim competition, utilizing an SE-14r integrated into a small limb on her back as a shoulder-mounted armament. By 35 ABY, Lando Calrissian had repurposed one of his chromium SE-14r blasters into a custom prod pistol.
