Haydnat Treen

Haydnat Treen, a human female, held the position of senator representing Kuat within the Galactic Alliance. During the initial years of the Galactic Empire, Treen also served as a senator in the Imperial Senate for a single year.

Biography

During the Unification Summit, she masterminded a kidnap attempt designed to remove Jagged Fel from his position as head of the Imperial Remnant. This scheme failed when Fel triggered the embassy's alarm and overcame Treen's stormtroopers. Fel later confided in his fiancée, Jaina Solo, that while he suspected the Moffs, he didn't suspect Moff Drikl Lecersen's involvement, despite Lecersen's conspicuous attempts to unseat him.

Lecersen, a more deliberate strategist than a spontaneous actor, launched his own investigation to uncover the instigator of the kidnapping attempt. After dismissing suspicions about the other Moffs, he traced several transactions through a Borleias bank, which ultimately led him to Senator Treen. He confronted Treen, inquiring about her motives for attempting to kidnap Fel. Treen revealed that the kidnapping was merely a component of a grander scheme to merge the Galactic Alliance and the Imperial Remnant into a new Galactic Empire, with Lecersen as the Emperor.

At the Kuat Embassy, Treen unveiled her strategy to Lecersen. Her objective was to have Lecersen temporarily replace Fel as Head of State, allowing him to preside over the Imperial reunification with the Galactic Alliance. This would grant him significant recognition, positioning him as the second most influential individual in the galaxy, subordinate only to the Chief of State of the Galactic Alliance. The subsequent phase involved removing Galactic Alliance Chief of State Natasi Daala. Treen intended to exploit the Emergency Powers Act established by the Senate following the Second Galactic Civil War. The act stipulated that the Chief of State could not dissolve the Senate, and the Appropriations and Disbursements Committee possessed the authority to freeze the government budget, thereby restricting the Chief of State's authority. Treen planned to manipulate the ensuing political turmoil to compel Daala to invoke the act. Treen anticipated that the resulting public outcry would force Daala's resignation, paving the way for the Imperial leader, Lecersen, to take her place.

Senator Fost Bramsin of Coruscant and the leaders of the Alliance Armed Forces were already in support of Treen's conspiracy. Lecersen inquired about Treen's desired compensation; she expressed her ambition to become the new Grand Moff of the Coruscant sector, coupled with four dinners with him—hoping to secure a marriage proposal and become his Empress.

The co-conspirators orchestrated a simulated assassination attempt targeting Fel while he was dining with the Solo family at the Pangalactus restaurant. As Lecersen had anticipated, the attack was unsuccessful, leading the Solos to believe that Daala was behind the incident.

The conspirators persisted in plotting Daala's overthrow, nearing the execution of their plan when the Jedi initiated their own coup, proving to be more potent. Recognizing the imminent collapse of their plans, Treen adapted by forging an alliance with the Jedi. This resulted in the formation of a Triumvirate, comprising Saba Sebatyne representing the Jedi, General Jaxton representing the Galactic Alliance Defense Force, and Treen herself, representing the Senate. This adaptation allowed their plans to proceed toward the ultimate goal of restoring the Old Empire, as she envisioned it.

Despite Wynn Dorvan later replacing Jaxton in the triumvirate, the conspiracy's schemes progressed without interruption. They even recruited a new member, the inexperienced Senator Kameron Suldar, who was secretly the Sith Lord Ivaar Workan. However, after Daala, having escaped imprisonment with the help of Boba Fett, discovered Lecersen's involvement with the Freedom Flight and his participation in the conspiracy, she blackmailed him into joining her endeavor to seize control of the Imperial Remnant. Subsequently, when Treen noticed Lecersen's disappearance and suspected foul play, she promptly informed another member of the conspiracy, General Stavin Thaal, that they needed to disband their operations. Treen then decided to eliminate a fellow conspiracy member, Coruscanti Senator Fost Bramsin, staging his death to appear as if he had died of old age before she retreated to Kuat. The remaining members of the conspiracy were dismantled as Thaal subsequently coerced Jaxton into committing suicide, and Parova was killed by members of the Lost Tribe of Sith in an attempt to implicate the former Jedi fugitive Tahiri Veila.

Following the Galactic Alliance and Jedi Order's victory over Abeloth and the Sith, Treen's involvement in the conspiracy became publicly known.
