Jaldine Gerams, a human female hailing from the planet Fresia, dedicated herself to creating advanced flight simulators. She relentlessly honed her skills within these simulations, fueled by a burning dream of piloting an actual starfighter. When the Alliance to Restore the Republic made its presence known on Fresia, she seized the opportunity to enlist and take to the skies in an X-wing starfighter. As a consummate professional pilot, she assumed the callsign Blue Three within Blue Squadron, a diverse unit operating from the moon Yavin 4.
In the year 1 BBY, Blue Squadron was urgently deployed alongside the Alliance fleet to support rebel operatives attempting to steal the Galactic Empire's blueprints for the Death Star superweapon on the planet Scarif. Gerams enthusiastically followed General Antoc Merrick into the thick of battle, but was unable to follow him through the Imperial Shield Gate protecting Scarif, instead engaging Imperial forces in the space above the planet.
During the engagement, Gerams alerted her comrades to the arrival of a fresh wave of TIE fighters emerging from the Shield Gate. She later launched proton torpedoes at the gate, but her attempts to destroy it proved unsuccessful. Ultimately, the Alliance succeeded in breaching the gate and acquiring the plans, but at a significant cost.

Jaldine Gerams, a human female born on the planet Fresia around 61 BBY, possessed expertise as a programmer and computer specialist. She authored numerous sophisticated starfighter simulator programs and immersed herself in them, accumulating countless hours of simulated flight experience before ever experiencing actual combat. When the Alliance to Restore the Republic arrived on Fresia, Gerams eagerly seized the chance to translate her extensive training into real-world action, enlisting with the Alliance on the very day of their arrival.
Adopting the callsign Blue Three, Gerams became a member of Blue Squadron, a diverse rebel starfighter squadron under the command of General Antoc Merrick, operating within the Massassi Group of rebels stationed in the Great Temple on the moon Yavin 4. Shortly after the squadron was partially deployed for a mission targeting an Imperial laboratory on the planet Eadu in 1 BBY, the entire squadron was mobilized for the first time to accompany the Alliance fleet to the Scarif system. There, a group of rebels was attempting to steal the plans for the Galactic Empire's Death Star superweapon.

Upon exiting hyperspace in the Scarif system, Blue Squadron received immediate orders from Admiral Raddus, the commander of the Alliance fleet, to proceed to the planet's surface and provide support to the rebels engaged there. This required swift action, as the Imperials maintained a planetary shield around Scarif, accessible only through a rapidly closing Shield Gate. Merrick led the squadron in a daring dive through the gate; however, it closed prematurely, preventing the entire unit from passing through. In the opening moments of the battle, Gerams' skills were tested as she skillfully maneuvered away from the gate, avoiding the fate of her squad mate Vangos Grek and two other pilots.
Separated from Merrick and those who had successfully passed through, Gerams, along with fellow Blue Squadron members such as Barion Raner and Heff Tobber, joined other rebel starfighter squadrons in fighting the Imperial fleet above Scarif. When a surge of TIE fighters launched from the hangars of the Shield Gate, Gerams promptly issued a warning and instructed two X-wings flying alongside her to assemble at coordinates six-five. The trio then flew past the bridge of Raddus's flagship, Profundity, with the TIEs in hot pursuit.

Later in the battle, Gerams joined rebel pilot Red Twelve and another X-wing pilot in a coordinated attack on the Shield Gate. After unleashing proton torpedoes directly at the sealed gate with no discernible impact, the trio of fighters disengaged, with Red Twelve reporting their ineffectiveness. Gerams then questioned the Shield Gate's damage threshold. Ultimately, the rebels succeeded in destroying the gate by orchestrating a collision between the Imperial I-class Star Destroyer Persecutor and the gate structure, enabling the rebels on the surface to successfully transmit the plans to the fleet.
The rebels on the ground and all members of Blue Squadron who had passed through the gate then perished when the Death Star itself arrived and unleashed its destructive power on Scarif. Some members of the squadron did manage to escape with the surviving rebel fleet. Between the battles of Eadu and Scarif, Blue and Red Squadron suffered a combined loss of nineteen pilots. The remaining members of Blue Squadron were so few that the Alliance questioned whether they could even field it when the Death Star attacked the rebel base at Yavin in 0 BBY. Ultimately, only Red Squadron, Green Squadron, and Gold Squadron participated.
Jaldine Gerams harbored a lifelong dream of flying a starfighter and eagerly embraced the opportunity when she first encountered the rebellion. Her dedicated and persistent training in simulators honed her aerial skills and qualified her as a skilled pilot. As a true professional, she readily followed Merrick into the battle of Scarif. Gerams had blonde hair, fair skin, and blue eyes.

While piloting an X-wing at Scarif, Gerams wore a blue flight suit with a white flak vest, gray gloves, and a gray Diagnostech life support unit. Her K-22995 light flight helmet featured a predominantly gray color scheme with white accents around the visor and sides, along with a gray and black grid above the visor, accented by light blue lines along the top ridge and on the grid.
Each side of the helmet displayed a black symbol consisting of several lines intersecting a circle, an emblem shared by numerous other rebel pilots, including her squad mates Raner and Torius Chord.

Jaldine Gerams was brought to life by Geraldine James in the 2016 Anthology Series film, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. Despite her eagerness to participate, James initially hesitated to accept the role due to a scheduling conflict: the two days of filming on a gimbal were scheduled just two weeks before her daughter's wedding. However, her daughter and husband insisted that she seize the opportunity, and James thoroughly enjoyed portraying the pilot.
Initially credited only as Blue Three, the character's full name was revealed through a tuckerization of James's name in the reference book Star Wars: Rogue One: The Ultimate Visual Guide, authored by Pablo Hidalgo and released in conjunction with the film. James found the naming choice to be quite amusing. The guide contains an error, stating that Gerams successfully flew through the Shield Gate to Scarif.
