Jevan Monsul

A male Imperial officer, Jevan Monsul, was a Human who lived through the times of the Galactic Civil War.

Biography

During the Galactic Civil War that pitted the Galactic Empire against the Rebel Alliance, Jevan Monsul served as an officer within Imperial Intelligence. After the Battle of Yavin, he achieved the rank of lieutenant and found himself stationed on the Outer Rim world of Tatooine. Monsul's base of operations was primarily the Cheapside Cantina in Bestine's.

Cal Handro's crashed ship on Rori.

In the year 1 ABY, Cal Handro, a smuggler, was shot down while flying over Rori, a moon of Naboo. While transporting a novel form of spice intended for the Rebel Alliance, the pilot was attacked, resulting in a crash landing on the moon. The Empire showed great interest in the cargo Handro was carrying, and Jevan Monsul received orders to spearhead an investigation. Sergeant Vekker from Imperial Intelligence got in touch with various spacers, inviting them to Tatooine to work under Lieutenant Monsul.

On Tatooine, Jevan Monsul gathered a group of spacers and promptly dispatched them to Rori to search for Cal Handro. The evidence suggested that he had survived the crash but subsequently disappeared into the wilderness. The spacers were able to locate the wreckage of Cal Handro's ship within the Madyn Plains on Rori. However, instead of finding the smuggler, they encountered Black Sun operatives who were also searching for the missing pilot. The spacers did manage to retrieve Handro's datapad and a sample of spice, which they then delivered to Jevan Monsul. Following this, the officer directed the spacers to take the spice to Doctor Edvar Vang, a medic loyal to the Empire, for analysis. Vang was already aware of the spice's existence but hesitated to share any information. Instead, he suggested that the spacers seek out his friend Moxxar Krieg on Tatooine, only to find him murdered at his place. Simultaneously, other spacers working for Tyla Jinn, a friend of Handro's, and Rebel officer Veega Madish were also conducting their own searches for the missing pilot on Rori.

Not long after, Kaila Min, a woman who frequented the Gambling Hall in Narmle, contacted Jevan Monsul claiming to have spotted Cal Handro in the wilds of Rori. The spacers quickly went to the location where the pilot was last seen, only to be ambushed by Black Sun forces. They were able to extract information from their attackers regarding the location of the Black Sun base on Rori. The spacers proceeded to raid the base but did not find Handro there.

Later, Jevan Monsul discovered that Cal Handro had made contact with Wire, a Bothan information broker on Talus. The Bothan informed the spacers that Trussk, a slavemaster from the Blackscale Clan, had put a death warrant on the smuggler, believing that Handro was meddling in their affairs by transporting slaves for a rival Trandoshan clan. The spacers then launched an assault on Trussk's fortress on Naboo, but again, they did not find Handro.

Black Sun enforcers besieging the Martano estate.

Eventually, Cal Handro was located at the Martano estate on Rori. Jevan Monsul then assigned the spacers the task of meeting with Tierce Martano, a wealthy gambler, to persuade him to hand over the pilot to the Empire. Given Martano's influence, the Imperial officer wanted to avoid any conflict with him. However, upon arriving at the estate, they found it under siege by Black Sun enforcers. As the spacers engaged the criminals, Martano sent out a distress signal to both the Empire and the Rebel Alliance, knowing that both factions were searching for the smuggler. The adventurers eventually eliminated all the Black Sun forces and met with Tierce Martano. Eager to be rid of Handro, the gambler readily provided the spacers with Handro's location.

Just as the hunt for Handro was nearing its conclusion, Jevan Monsul received new orders and was reassigned. Imperial Officer M'Kae was appointed to take over the investigation, and Monsul instructed the spacers to report to him as soon as possible. Cal Handro ultimately met his end aboard his starship during a space battle between Imperial and Rebel forces within the Naboo system.
