Jori Daragon's amulet was a relic fashioned within the Sith dominion circa 5000 BBY. Taking the form of an ornate hand covering, it was linked to a similar talisman. When hyperspace pathfinders Gav and Jori Daragon journeyed from Galactic Republic territory to the empire in 5000 BBY, the Sith's Dark Lord Naga Sadow intended to exploit the captured siblings in his scheme to broaden the empire via the Republic's subjugation. Sadow, ensuring the Daragons remained apart, permitted Gav, who was undergoing instruction in Sith sorcery, to record an inspiring message for Jori on the amulet's matching piece, which the Dark Lord then delivered to Jori. After she had listened to the message, Sadow further returned the Daragons' seized vessel, the Starbreaker 12. Sadow's machinations eventually forced Jori to leave for the Republic without Gav, the amulet acting as a reminder of her brother.
Upon her arrival in the Republic's Koros system, Daragon eventually succeeded in reaching the system's ruler, Teta, alerting her and two attending Jedi to the peril presented by the Sith Empire, presenting the amulet as tangible proof of her claims. Shortly thereafter, the empire indeed initiated an assault on the Republic, during which Gav, having been appointed chief of the Sith armada, leveraged the connection between the two amulets in an effort to locate Jori on the world Koros Major. However, feeling regret for his association with Sadow, Gav then journeyed to the Primus Goluud system to confront the Dark Lord, but Sadow ensnared him in a crippled ship and caused a nearby celestial body to become a supernova. At that juncture, Jori, who had been following Gav, once more found herself staring at her amulet as she was compelled to abandon her brother to his demise. Over a thousand years later, Jedi Covenant operative Celeste Morne obtained Daragon's amulet during one of her Covenant missions.

The amulet belonging to Jori Daragon was one of a pair of linked amulets crafted by the Sith race of the Sith Empire around 5000 BBY. About the size of a hand and resembling a type of glove used by the empire's Sith Lords, the amulet was composed of silver-hued metal featuring an embedded yellow jewel. It also possessed smaller yellow adornments and was embellished with chains. Similar to its pair, Jori Daragon's amulet had three straps designed to secure it to the wearer's hand.
The amulet could be employed by a Sith magic user to record a vocal message accompanied by a hand-sized, golden, three-dimensional representation of the speaker. Furthermore, according to Daragon, Sith Lords utilized amulets like hers to concentrate their magical abilities, although Daragon herself lacked specific knowledge of such usage. In addition to the artifact's active functions, its presence also induced a tingling sensation radiating from the amulet to which it was connected.
In 5000 BBY, when explorers Gav and Jori Daragon arrived in the Sith Empire due to a chance hyperspace jump from distant Galactic Republic space and were promptly confined under the orders of the empire's wary Sith Lords, the Dark Lord of the Sith Naga Sadow aimed to exploit the situation to fulfill his ambitions of expanding the Sith domain through conquest. Freeing the two captives, Sadow separated them, keeping Jori at his stronghold on the planet Khar Delba while Gav underwent training in Sith magic at a base Sadow maintained on the world's satellite, Khar Shian.

At the latter location, Gav, who had been practicing with a Sith amulet, recorded a message for Jori on its counterpart, briefly mentioning his training. He also informed his sibling that Sadow had made "arrangements" to allow both of them to return to the Republic and expressed his belief that they would soon be reunited. Sadow then delivered the linked amulet to Jori on Khar Delba. Although the explorer was initially puzzled about how to access her brother's message, it soon appeared. Expressing gratitude to Sadow for delivering the message, Daragon held on to the amulet as the Dark Lord brought her to her and Gav's spacecraft, the Starbreaker 12, which Sadow had also freed from Sith seizure.
Having been manipulated by Sadow, his rival, Ludo Kressh, then assaulted the Khar Delba fortress. Seizing the opportunity, Sadow urged Daragon to board the Starbreaker 12 and depart for the Republic without her brother, though before the explorer ultimately complied, she gazed at the amulet in her hand, tears forming in her eyes at the thought of leaving Gav alone in the Sith Empire.
Upon arriving in the Koros system, Daragon was promptly arrested for her previous transgressions and sentenced to work on the settlement world Ronika. However, determined to rescue her brother and warn the Republic about the threat posed by the Sith Empire, Daragon soon escaped and returned to the planet Koros Major, where she broke into the residence of the system's leader, Teta. As the empress and her guards surrounded Daragon with drawn arms, the young woman attempted to persuade Teta to heed her warnings. She also displayed the amulet, holding it up as tangible evidence of her story. Teta and the Jedi Memit Nadill and Odan-Urr were then convinced of the truthfulness of Daragon's account, and soon thereafter a Sith armada that had followed the hyperspace path taken by the Starbreaker 12 launched an invasion of the Republic, including an attack on Koros Major.

During that battle, Gav, whom Sadow had appointed the head of the Sith armada, attempted to find Jori. With his amulet reacting to the presence of his sister's, Gav arrived at Aarrba's Repair Dock, where Jori was also headed to obtain a ship to fly in combat. At the facility, one of Gav's Massassi troopers killed its owner, Aarrba. The devastated commander, remorseful for his involvement in Sadow's schemes, then traveled to the Primus Goluud system to confront the Dark Lord.
However, Sadow trapped his former student aboard a damaged Sith Meditation Sphere, and when both a vessel piloted by Jori and Teta's fleet also arrived in the system in pursuit of Gav, initiated the star Primus Goluud into becoming a supernova explosion. Gav, realizing what Sadow had done, warned Jori and the Koros fleet of the impending disaster, which he himself was unable to escape. Preparing to jump her vessel into hyperspace, Jori then once again peered at her amulet while contemplating her guilt over abandoning her brother to his fate.
After the Republic eventually emerged victorious over the Sith Empire, Jori became the new owner of Aarrba's Repair Dock. By 3963 BBY, the Jedi Covenant's operative Celeste Morne recovered Daragon's amulet for the organization, with the accomplishment being recorded in a record the Covenant kept on its Shadows. When the Covenant member Feln viewed Morne's record that year, he was highly impressed with her past assignments, including the retrieval of the amulet.

Jori Daragon's amulet was initially featured in the fourth edition of Dark Horse Comics' Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi – The Golden Age of the Sith illustrated story mini-series. The edition was penned by Kevin J. Anderson, drawn by Dario Carrasco, Jr., and released on January 8, 1997. The amulet was first named in the twenty-fifth edition of Dark Horse Comics' Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic comic series, which was authored by John Jackson Miller and published on January 30, 2008.
The fourth and the fifth edition—released on February 12, 1997—of The Golden Age of the Sith, both of which were colored by Perry McNamee, depicted Jori Daragon's amulet as being silver in hue and adorned with a yellow gem. Conversely, in the July 23, 1997 second and the September 17, 1997 fourth edition of the Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi – The Fall of the Sith Empire series, colorist Ray Murtaugh portrayed the artifact in various shades of blue. This article assumes the color scheme from The Golden Age of the Sith is correct.
