Koley Linn

Koley Linn was a pilot of the male persuasion, and a human. He was the proprietor of the Ace of Staves which was a cargo ship.

Biography

Back in 242 BBY, both Linn and Leox Gyasi found themselves working for the Byne Guild. Shortly before Gyasi's arrival, Linn was assigned as a tech on a ship. He attempted to bully Gyasi, making claims about the ship's power cells being old and inefficient. Gyasi soon discovered that Linn was secretly siphoning off power and selling it illegally. Instead of reporting Linn, Gyasi ignored his faulty maintenance suggestions and performed the tasks correctly, ultimately uncovering Linn's illicit activities. As a result, Linn was reassigned to a different position on another ship, fueling his resentment towards Gyasi and his crew.

Striking out on his own, Linn continued his association with the Byne Guild, harboring a deep-seated grudge against Affie Hollow for her involvement in its downfall. To exact revenge, the pilot frequently went out of his way to disrupt their operations. On the small planet of Todouhar, Linn cornered the market on spare fuel, forcing the crew of the Vessel to endure an extra three days in port, and he even attempted to pilfer their cargo on Kennerla.

Linn was on Starlight Beacon when it faced its destruction. When Stellan Gios put in place stringent departure protocols, Linn voiced his complaints to the Jedi. After the Vessel made planetfall, Linn approached Gyasi, offering his assistance with repairs in exchange for payment. Gyasi declined, and Linn went off in search of other vulnerable individuals to exploit. Believing the Vessel was unguarded, Linn went to inspect it, hoping to find equipment to steal. His plans were foiled by Geode, and he left with nothing.

Linn took notice of a group of maintenance workers who were often in restricted zones of Starlight Beacon. Assuming they were thieves, he offered them a deal to share their stolen goods, unaware that they were actually Nihil saboteurs.

After the bombs went off, Linn came to the realization that he was trapped on Starlight Beacon. He confronted the Republic crew members, demanding they open the docking bay doors so he could leave. He discharged his blaster into the air, not realizing the bay was magnetically sealed. The blaster bolt bounced around before being intercepted by Geode. After the situation was defused, he continued to plot his escape. The Jedi sought the help of the trapped spacers to help them seal off sections of the station. Pikka Adren criticized Linn for not volunteering, but he decided to stay behind, hoping to find a way to force the Starlight Beacon crew to let him leave the station. He watched as the upper portion of the station was incinerated in the Eiram atmosphere. He gathered a crew and convinced them that the Jedi were unable to save the remaining part of the station and that they should blast a hole in the docking bay so they could fly out to safety. When Nan and Chancey Yarrow entered the docking bay, Linn overheard them discussing evading Republic authorities and persuaded them to join his plan.

Linn created an explosive device to cause a diversion so he and his accomplices could seize enough ships to blow a hole in the docking bay. However, the remaining spacers and Jedi Stellan Gios responded swiftly, preventing Linn and his crew from commandeering any ships. Realizing this, Linn grabbed a child, threatening to shoot if anyone interfered. Geode stepped between the child and Linn and the smuggler fired at him before remembering that Vintians could magnetically seal themselves. The blaster bolt ricocheted off of Geode and resulted in Linn's death.
