Biography

Early life

Korin Pers, a sava at the University of Bar'leth in the Core Worlds, dedicated her time to studying antiquities and ancient cultures, including the Jedi, during the era of the Galactic Republic. Her writings were widely published throughout the Republic. Her extensive research yielded only fragments pertaining to the Sith. She encountered accounts of the Sith's connection to corruption, which she acknowledged were actively suppressed by the Jedi, potentially as anti-Sith propaganda.

Age of the Empire

Following the Great Jedi Purge and the establishment of the Galactic Empire, Pers lost her position and fell from grace when the study of the Jedi and their history became forbidden. Consequently, she sought employment with smugglers and other criminals.

Prior to the theft of the Imperialis, Pers accepted a job with Lando Calrissian that led to the loss of her left eye, which was then replaced with a cybernetic replacement. Despite Calrissian's promise to compensate her, Pers maintained a strong dislike for him.

Theft of the Imperialis

When Lando Calrissian and his associate Lobot were tasked by crime lord Papa Toren with stealing the Imperialis, Calrissian sought Pers's assistance to identify any antiquities on board. Despite aiming a blaster at Calrissian and asserting her reluctance to work with him, Pers agreed to join Calrissian upon seeing the datapad containing information about the job. Calrissian revealed that their objective was to steal an Imperial pleasure craft filled with potentially rare and valuable antiquities. While Toren would receive the ship, the group was entitled to keep anything found inside the starship. She then assisted Calrissian, Lobot, Aleksin, and Pavol in stealing the Imperialis. The group utilized stealth suits provided by Toren to successfully infiltrate Sienar Fleet Systems Orbital Shipyard CC-24, where the ship was undergoing refitting, and steal it.

In the Castell system near Orbital Shipyard CC-24, the Imperialis came under attack by three Imperial Star Destroyers while Pers surveyed the ship. Sensing the Imperialis vibrate as its automatic defense system destroyed the gravity-based mines deployed by the Star Destroyers, Pers, Aleksin, and Pavol entered the cockpit, where Calrissian and Lobot were present. Spotting a Star Destroyer through the viewport, Pers criticized Calrissian for endangering their lives. Calrissian piloted the Imperialis away from the Star Destroyers. Once safely in deep space, Pers declared that the ship was filled with treasures, including a Gungan fertility totem. While guiding the group through the ship, Pers suggested that the Imperialis was a unique work of art, custom-built by Raith Sienar, who supposedly reserved his unique technology for favored clients. She then pointed out the central chamber, which was heavily secured. Using his implants, Lobot opened the chamber, only to be stabbed by an Imperial Royal Guard on the other side.

While Aleksin and Pavol dealt with the two Royal Guards, Pers assisted Calrissian in taking the injured Lobot to the medical bay and placing him in a bacta tank that she had discovered earlier during her survey. Pers identified the ship as belonging to Emperor Palpatine and reprimanded Calrissian for the impending doom that the smuggler had brought upon them all. After visiting the armory, Pers and Calrissian returned to assist the twins, only to find that they had killed the Royal Guards. Pers proceeded to take the helmet off one of the dead guards, revealing the guard's corrupted face. Discarding the helmet, Pers continued into the central chamber to find what the guards were protecting. In the central chamber, Pers identified the numerous antiquities as priceless Sith artifacts.

Meanwhile, Chanath Cha, a bounty hunter serving Emperor Palpatine, boarded the Imperialis in an attempt to recover the starship for the Emperor. After identifying the artifacts as creations of the Sith sculptor Darth Momin, Pers informed Calrissian that the artifacts could fetch enough credits to purchase a moon or two from the right buyer. However, the mask of Lord Momin corrupted Aleksin, who seized a red lightsaber and attacked Pavol. Calrissian and Pers escaped Aleksin and sealed off the central chamber. Reflecting on her past research into the Sith, Pers suggested that proximity to the Sith artifacts might have corrupted the Royal Guards and Aleksin. Pers decided to locate an escape pod, advising Calrissian and Lobot to do the same.

However, Chanath Cha had deactivated the escape pods. While heading to the bridge to reactivate the escape pods, Pers was captured at gunpoint by Cha and refused to disclose information about the other members of her crew. Although Calrissian failed to rescue Pers, the bounty hunter recognized Calrissian and lowered her blasters. Cha told the two that she would help them escape and proceeded to self-destruct the ship despite the pleas of Pers and Calrissian for assistance in stealing the artifacts. Once Calrissian brought up Lobot, Cha stopped inputting the self-destruct codes. Suddenly, Aleksin and Pavol appeared and provided Pers the opportunity to join their side. After being handed the helmet artifact, Pers decided to join the twins and kill the others. Aleksin then stabbed Pers through the chest with a red lightsaber.
