Lita

Lita, a Ketzalian belonging to Ana Tolla's smuggling ring, operated during the First Order and Resistance conflict. A notable trait was her habit of sharing treats, like java cakes, with fellow crew members on assignments. In 34 ABY, following a mission, Lita and Tolla's team visited a cantina located on the Outer Rim world of Actlyon. After enjoying some refreshments, Lita and the crew made a quick exit from Actlyon, abandoning their associate Izal Garsea as instructed by their leader.

For their subsequent undertaking, Lita and her companions journeyed to the Outer Rim planet Batuu. Upon arriving on Batuu, Lita and Tolla enlisted the services of pilot Delta Jeet to find Julen Rakab, a farmer. Once Jeet located Rakab, Lita and her team kidnapped him from the ancient ruins on the outskirts of Black Spire Outpost, intending to use him to sabotage Kat Saka's farm. Lita provided Rakab with replacement trousers after his abduction.

During the farm operation, Tolla tasked Lita, along with the crew's second-in-command, Safwan (a human-Twi'lek hybrid), and Damar Olin, with loading crates onto a vessel. After Rakab, the abducted farmer, attacked them in the farm's storehouse, Lita and Safwan attempted to escape in Tolla's ship. However, Jeet prevented their hyperspace departure by wounding them both with a blaster.

Biography

Tolla's crew

As the First Order and Resistance war raged, Lita, the Ketzalian became a member of Ana Tolla's smuggling operation. In 34 ABY, Lita participated in a mission, which was followed by a trip to the Outer Rim planet of Actlyon. While on Actlyon, Lita shared java cakes with her colleagues Damar Olin and Izal Garsea. Olin enjoyed the last cake, which helped him stave off hunger.

As the smugglers prepared for their next job, Lita accompanied the crew to a cantina in Actlyon City on Actlyon. The crew enjoyed refreshments at the cantina, but they soon had to make a hasty escape when bounty hunters raided the location. Lita then rejoined her colleagues on Tolla's ship, leaving Garsea behind as instructed by their leader. After departing Actlyon, Lita and the crew headed to the Outer Rim planet Batuu for their next operation under Tolla's command.

Mission at Kat Saka's farm

On the day the smuggling crew arrived on Batuu, Lita and Tolla offered Delta Jeet, a pilot, a job to locate the farmer Julen Rakab and his friend Garsea, whom he had been keeping company following her abandonment by Tolla's crew. Jeet accepted the task for 1,000 credits and tracked the pair to the ancient ruins near Black Spire Outpost. Tolla's crew, including Lita, captured Rakab with the intention of using him to help destroy Kat Saka's farm, and they allowed Jeet to seize Garsea as insurance that he would comply. However, Jeet later refused to deliver her to the crew after Garsea convinced her that Tolla and Lita's earlier veneer of inclusion into their operation was a facade.

Lita and her crew attempted to destroy Kat Saka's farm on Batuu.

Upon arriving at the farm, Tolla instructed Lita to provide Rakab with green pants to replace the garments he had been forced to abandon at the ruins. After Rakab assisted Tolla in accessing the farm's seed storehouse, Lita helped the crew's second-in-command, Safwan (a human-Twi'lek hybrid), with loading crates onto the crew's ship. Their colleague Damar Olin was assigned to watch over Rakab as the farmer assisted Lita and Safwan with their assigned tasks. Lita and Safwan worked slowly, hampered by the Ketzalian's short arms and the human-Twi'lek's injuries from riots in Black Spire Outpost.

Lita, Safwan, and Olin started arguing, leading the human-Twi'lek to assert his authority over Olin and send him to prepare their ship for departure instead of being a distraction. After Olin left, Rakab attacked Lita and Safwan, shoving a crate at the latter's hurt shoulder. Safwan screamed in pain, and the farmer took the opportunity to steal his blaster and stun Lita, leaving the Ketzalian temporarily immobilized.

A bid to escape

After recovering from Rakab's attack, Lita and Safwan exited the seed storehouse and attempted to use Tolla's ship to flee the scene. Rakab tracked the pair to the vessel but proved unable to capture either. Lita sent a stack of crates toppling toward the farmer to slow him down and boarded Tolla's ship while he maneuvered around them. As the vessel was prepared for takeoff, Olin made it on board but was captured by Rakab before the ship could ascend.

Rakab gave Jeet the blaster he had stolen from Safwan, and she boarded the smugglers' ship. Lita and Safwan's efforts to escape to hyperspace were thwarted by Jeet, who injured both of them with a blaster, impeding their flight. Their aborted takeoff resulted in Rakab's recently purchased ship sustaining damage, which he got repaired after the skirmish. Following the mission at the farm, Lita's colleagues Oksan and Tolla were captured by the thugs of Oga Garra, the local crime boss of Batuu.

Personality and traits

Lita displayed a consistently anxious demeanor, often speaking in a high-pitched voice. Despite participating in the abduction of Julen Rakab under Ana Tolla's orders, she treated him with more courtesy than the rest of her crew. Lita frequently carried sweets to share with her crewmates, who appreciated her generosity. However, after being abandoned by Tolla's crew, Izal Garsea speculated that Lita's generosity might have been a ploy to gain favor. Although Lita had a functional relationship with the crew's second-in-command, Safwan, she quickly grew irritated with Damar Olin's antagonizing of Julen Rakab. Lita was prepared to abandon Tolla, Oksan, and Olin to escape Kat Saka's farm with Safwan when their mission on Batuu failed.

Lita was a Ketzalian with thick, seemingly filmy, purple wings. Her head was shaped like a humanoid's, and she had waxy, plum-colored head feathers instead of hair. Lita was of short stature and possessed reptilian features resembling a lizard, including a tail and short arms. She spoke Basic.

Skills and abilities

Lita's wings enabled her to fly, a skill she used to glide over the wall surrounding Saka's farm during her crew's mission on Batuu.

Behind the scenes

Lita's debut was in A Crash of Fate, a young-adult novel from 2019 by Zoraida Córdova. Córdova initially envisioned Lita as a bird-like species already established in the Star Wars universe. However, that species' appearance in the then-upcoming themed attraction Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge prompted Walt Disney Imagineering and Lucasfilm to determine that the overlap between it and A Crash of Fate could cause confusion for park visitors. Córdova was allowed to create a new species specifically for Lita's story, which she named Ketzalians.

Córdova believed Lita's endearing personality helped her integrate into Ana Tolla's crew while maintaining unique qualities. She insisted on Ketzalians having the ability to fly and gave Lita wings to enable this. Córdova's design for Lita was intended to be a blend of a dinosaur and a bird.
