The archaeologist, known as Mika Grey, possessed a personal starship. In the year 34 ABY, Grey made use of her vessel to journey to the Outer Rim world of Ashas Ree, undertaking a quest to locate a Sith artifact. After being confined within a Sith temple for a duration of two days, Grey experienced rescue at the hands of a collection of individuals. Upon exiting the temple structure, the group observed a detonation; Grey's starship had suffered destruction due to the actions of the First Order, who had successfully tracked her to the planet. Following the defeat of the First Order forces, Grey, now lacking a means of transportation, joined the group on their return trip to the supertanker fuel depot called Colossus.

In 34 ABY, the archaeologist Mika Grey, a human female, commanded the starship to the planet Ashas Ree, located within the Outer Rim. This journey was part of her search for a Sith relic, a pursuit that had occupied her for a period of two years. Upon her arrival on Ashas Ree, she landed her ship near the edge of an outpost and proceeded towards a Temple of the Force constructed above a pre-existing Sith temple. After Grey managed to raise the Sith temple and gain entry, she found herself trapped inside. Two days later, a group of individuals rescued Grey. This group included the human siblings Kel and Eila, Kazuda Xiono who was a member of the Resistance, and the astromech droid named CB-23.
After their departure from the temple, the group made the discovery that their companions, the pilots Freya Fenris and Torra Doza, had been taken captive by First Order Raiders. These stormtroopers were seeking Sith artifacts for their leader, Supreme Leader Kylo Ren, and had followed Grey from the celestial body known as Vargos 9. Grey proposed that her rescuers accompany her to her starship, although Xiono questioned the usefulness of this plan given their friends' captivity. Xiono also suggested that Grey should consider herself fortunate if the First Order had not already located her ship.
Subsequent to Xiono's comment, an explosion occurred; the archaeologist's starship had indeed been discovered and subsequently destroyed by the First Order, thereby necessitating a revised strategy. It was then observed that Grey had vanished. Following the Raiders' capture of the group, Grey revealed herself and activated the Sith relic, which led to the deaths of the troopers. With the troopers now deceased, Grey expressed her disappointment, acknowledging that she would be unable to depart from the planet due to the destruction of her ship. Eila, Doza, and Xiono extended an invitation to Grey, asking her to join them on their return to the supertanker fuel depot known as the Colossus, where they resided. Grey accepted this offer, and they subsequently departed for the Colossus.
The first mention of Mika Grey's starship occurred in "The Relic Raiders," which was the seventh episode of the second season of the animated television series Star Wars Resistance. This episode was broadcast on November 17, 2019.
